Workplace Christmas 'fun'. if i wanted to sing in a bloody 'Xmas Factor' singing competition I'd happily stand up and go and do it myself. I have no wish or desire to though so shouldn't be 'cajoled' or otherwise coerced into taking part of our alloted 'fun' time. ttS.

As a Buses. Just stop doing 20 mph everywhere. Either get your toe down or park up at a stop for 60 seconds til you're back on schedule or whatever. Oh and don't put your right hand indicator on to pull out while you're still serving punters because all that achieves is the nowhere-to-go-all-day-to-do-it types to stop behind you waiting for you to move and cause every other fker to come to a halt behind while you're still dicking around printing bus fare tickets. fking hate buses.

Why would you need to slow down. They are obviously traveling faster than you to overtake. Ok you might get spooked by the close cut in but they would still be pulling away from you.

I'm confused. If someone is overtaking, then they'll be moving faster than you. Why would you have to slow down for a vehicle that's always moving away from you?

Try not to involuntarily accelerate when they overtake - it'll save you the job of getting wound up at nothing.
Without wanting to create another "plane on a conveyor belt" debate, if someone overtaking you cuts in too sharply then the N/S/R of their car could collide with the O/S/F of your own, and braking would avoid that collision. So I think what WD39 is really going on about is people who cut in too quickly when overtaking.

This post apart, I flash overtakers, on any class of road, if they cut in too soon after passing, forcing you to slow down.
Not a reglar occurance, but annoying when it happens.
I wonder if any PH posters are guilty of this when they get angry about being flashed?

Also, expect your post to feature in spelling thread!

Christ, sometimes there's just no point in subtlety.

Definitely worth a Spot on chap.

I know what you meant FFS and I'm insinuating it's your poor driving that's leading to this.

In all the times you and I have crossed swords (ooer, missus) I don't think I could ever accuse you of subtlety, Goldblum. Usually it's bloody-minded pedantry and a refusal to engage in rational debate. Christ, sometimes there's just no point in subtlety.

The fact that the overflow/staff car park at work is going to be "developed" to allow for a cinema and other things to be built around the area, thus rendering it unusable for a currently undetermined amount of time. And when questioned on "where are all the staff going to put these cars now then?" The answer is something along the lines of "mmm, dunno really."

Just been to do the Xmas shop at Sainsburys and all the scanners were out of order FFS, had to queue with all the common folks!
I went to Aldi at the weekend, and I was parked between a FFRR and a Bentley Continental. Looks like the riff-raff now go to Waitrose to take advantage of the "free" coffee. Put the word "free" on something, see the trackied hordes descend. Aldi, where you have to pay for the trolley? Old money galore. [/snob]

I think the worst think about getting older is realising that you are no longer what you were.
That really annoys me
I used to race karts. I could probably do a 45 minute stint in a kart now and do quite well. Whether I could get out of the kart at the end and have anything like usual use of my limbs is another matter. That really annoys me
