Central Scotland has nothing. Looking at the traffic cameras all over the place there doesn’t seem to be much at all.

Who's got snow?
Nothing expected in the High Peak until dusk. Weather's coming in though.

The freezing rain has arrived. My car has a weird cobble stone effect going on. Chilly day for tinkering in the garage!

Same here Rick down in the lowlands of Cleckie. Ice rain is pouring down and my car is now completely encased in layers of solid ice. The road and path has turned into an icerink. A car has just come past my window sideways sliding down the road bouncing off the kerbs. eek No gritters to be seen anywhere!

Wow! It's raining in the Aire valley and is -1c but no ice forming I've just come over the tops from Baildon, typical regarding the gritters.

I have not seen that effect since the (in)famous winter of 1962/63 - not in the southern counties at any rate.

Not cold enough to freeze though.

I remember the freezing ice that hit Hampshire in the late 90s. We got home just before. Neighbours got in 30mins later and couldn’t get the car to their house. Driver got out and fell on his arse. So he got the car mats out and used them as stepping stones to ferry him, his wife and 2 kids, moving the one he had just stepped off to the front until he got to his house.

However, his boxer dog faired not quite so well. He hopped out of the hatchback and... well basically it was like watching that scene from Bambi. Not, not “that” one, his mum didn’t get shot, I mean the one on the frozen pond with the rabbit!

Still horrid rain and wind here.
