Does anyone actually make a donation to Wikipedia when they need to check so facts?
Have you?
Yes, several times. Have you?
" 'The sum of all human knowledge' in a format which is legal to copy, modify and redistribute to all, at no cost". Quite a laudable and important mission statement I think.

Yes it's a genuine question, that's why I asked it.
Are you going to enlighten me?
Well I can't be 100% sure but i'd always assumed it's the same reason everything costs £9.99, £99.99, £999.99 etc.Are you going to enlighten me?
It's as close to the next number up while still sounding like the next number down to retards.

With those mini-flash games that the national lottery website uses, is your hand predetermined when you start, or is it based on some clock based random dice thing each shot you take mid-game?
The outcome of the game is determined at the point you make the purchase. This allows for them to control the correct ratio of prize payouts for the game and also allows for issues such as user disconnections. It's all explained in the rules for each game if you read them.

that they are making it look less than it is?
If your advertising a job, you want the person applying to think it's more not less!that they are making it look less than it is?
really should be £8 plus benifits, even if the benifits are free cups of tea

Whilst this is true, it's an added consequence of the primary reason; that being to require a cashier to hand change to a customer requiring the till to register the sale and thus minimising staff from pilfering the cash. It's as close to the next number up while still sounding like the next number down to retards.

It's to make sure cashiers ring purchases through the till rather than pocket the money, as they have to give change. It's as close to the next number up while still sounding like the next number down to retards.

My point is that they are selling it in a currency multiple that doesn't exist, 121.9 p.

Fair enough, so the next time I go into the esso, I'll put in exactly 5 litres, hand over £6.10 and expect my .5p change!

It rounds down for you if that's any consolation. My point is that they are selling it in a currency multiple that doesn't exist, 121.9 p.
What to do with all those bits of pennies they have left over?

Not only does £7.99 sell better than £8.00, as you would expect, but weirdly it also sells better than £7.88. All other things being equal.
Odd.
