Frost this morning, 4 hours later I'm sweating and it feels like spring, safe to say the air mass has changed!

2-5" forecast for Tuesday afternoon through to Wednesday afternoon. As ever in Colorado, this really means we're getting snow, could be anywhere from a trace to several feet.

Absolutely foul drive up to the Midlands in the fog this morning. The fog was a pain too wink

Much warmer now - but plenty of chatter coming out about a potential Scandinavian high coming. Let's hope...

Yes, hints that the mild spell might be shorter than originally thought, and the colder return colder than before..........

(I've probably just jinxed it.)

About an inch and a half so far, with a little more to come (not much, seems pretty much played out). -10c though, which makes it a little unpleasant.

IIRC, you didn't get much last year (snow), JJJ. I thought CO was awash with the white stuff for months on end..?

Nope, not a great deal. A couple of half decent storms, one nasty-ish one, and some sprinkles. Not much so far this year, but we've another 4 months to go...

A little more due Saturday...no accumulation expected.

Another 3,000 feet higher...they get a lot more. The mountains will have continuous coverage until may from now.

I think this year will have a fair bit more than last year...we'll see.

Sooo... Christmas is coming. What's going to happen?

Frankly, it's far from clear. There is little uniformity in the charts from the various suppliers. GFS and ECM are both pointing towards a possible high pressure system arriving to our NW. This could open up an Arctic flow to us, positioning would be key.

Plenty of other evidence of just average weather, like we've had. Little evidence of an Atlantic onslaught thumbup

And then there's this sort of chart (just for fun!):

Done it before, it's fine. Freezes about a minute after landing, though.
You don't want to do it into the wind, though. Not for that reason, but because it gets rather breezy inside your pants and warming up takes an eternity.
