Well finally arrived in beautiful Tenerife. Things didn’t get much better on the journey. Having face planted the wing of the car, I lost my phone in the airport.

I’ve had a couple of strong Black Russians now so am feeling relaxed.

Hellfire, it never rains, it only pours down Hammo old boy.

Never mind, at least you've made it there. Enjoy the holiday, old chap.

Good evening/morning one and all!!
It's been a day of ups and downs for sure, sorry to hear that you had a nasty fall hammo19 and lost your phone!!

Glendolinerobbo I'm glad to hear that you finally got your meds!!

Slopes, I hope that you get the jabs you need!!

My day was ok, right up until I had a call from the hospital saying that they were sending my dad home, without having arranged his replacement care package, to which I told them it wasn't acceptable, so they said they'd sort it out and call me back.
40 minutes later I get a call telling me that care had been arranged and that he was coming home, after some probing questions it transpired that the care team had been contacted but no care was actually in place, again I told them to try again as it wasn't acceptable.
Halfway home I get another call saying he is actually on his way home with a full care package is in place, so I diverted to his flat to await his arrival.
Duly home and ensconced in his chair, I'm warned by the ambulance team that he's got diohrea and offered a blanket to cover his chair with.
I bagged up some of his clothes which were scattered around the flat, and was going to at least get them on washing but the laundry room was locked.
He's still confused and a tad anxious, I reassured him that he's home in his flat and that carers will be coming later, I go and get food for him, a couple of days worth, and return to find him fannying around with the crap on his mantle, put his food away and explain what's happening again, he responded with, "so I guess you're off home to your own place then?"
"yep"
"oh, well I wish you the best of luck with it"
??????????
Anyway, I leave and eventually get to the Indian restaurant for the meal with our friends that I've been looking forward to all day, 35 minutes late, still in my work clothes, not having been home yet since leaving home at 0600 this morning!!!
To be fair we had a lovely meal and a couple of drinks with our friends, but we got home and were preparing to have a bath when the phone rang........
Yep, he's had another fall, he's complaining that he feels strange and they can't get him up so an ambulance has been called again,
Can I go around there and wait?
Nope.
Is there another member of the family?
Nope.

And so it begins again.

Bloody hell Bobbers, that's awful. For both of you for very different reasons.

You have my sincere sympathy.

Bobbers, this sounds very much like the issues i had with Mum before she ended up going into a home. Granted she had other things wrong that your dad might not but it sounds very much the same st show that i had to deal with.
I was lucky, Lady Slopes working in the industry was a god send, without her it would have ended up with me probably being spoken to by plod because the local social services are next to useless.

I hope things get resolved one way or the other once and for all but be wary, carers don't do an awful lot, they just prompt the patient to do it for themselves. I would love you to prove me wrong and that your dad gets better care and as always, i am always here for you my friend even if it is just to rant about things

And I’ll add my portion of those wishes, too. Wretched business.

Bobbers keep strong my friend, it will resolve itself but it may take time and it will try your patience somewhat.

Noobs on PH are making it increasingly difficult for me to stay on ,so many with bad attitudes and posts that just depress me .wishing I hadn't read them .

I have a new max post allocation to use ,then I will STOP !

I actually went 2 whole days Monday Tuesday without opening the laptop at all .

I will now go a whole 2 more ,maybe 3 or 4 days without it .

Me and Amanda are no longer interested in the PHSS , been there done them all .

What a pair ! 2 Ferraris and zero % Rosso Corsa in sight .
Nothing to do with PHSS I just like pics .

I've had an small hours posting spree ,my allocation is much smaller now already .
