This really annoys me more than it should, I know. The “it’s only 1 day a year” lot would shut me down, but lorries should be on fking winters.
…… and you need to calm down or at least have a clue what your talking about . Ever driven a truck ? Ever ridden in a truck ? Imagine the cost of putting winters on trucks for the odd few days you get snow , then you’ll be bhing about price hikes at the local shop . Best wishes from a Canadian trucker , and we don’t use winters here either.

Not required in the US either, even here in the Rockies. Hence lots of electronic signs that flash up 'chain laws in effect' when the truckers need to stop and chain up.

Absolute letdown down here on the south coast. Had a flurry of snow for a few seconds around 11am yesterday. Been a little windy but nothing dramatic. It's just been really really cold. Meh.

More snow in the Peak District last night (about 6"), many roads shut. Stranded lorries cars etc..

There's a fairly big system of snow moving down from Scotland. Potentially about to break the infamous Manchester snow shield

Yes, might do. More for the Peaks. I think it's still windy up there so as soon as the ploughs have been through more drifts are created by snow blown off the fields.

Met office have it a bit wrong. It was supposed to snow yesterday and be clear today, it's the opposite way round.

Still very windy in Queensbury, West Yorkshire.
Temp around freezing. Some interesting new sculptures in the garden.

I love the place names on the way there from Hipperholme, short and to the point; Shelf, Mountain etc. When you come into Queensbury from that way what are those low long thin brick buildings stood in a field? I've always wondered.

If there is any justice in this world, that will be a squashed scamera van.
