In Somalia being fat is a status symbol...
Yes, but so is a stolen oil-tanker.

From which, um, I think we can deduce from HRG's logic that its OK to be fat, as long as you obtained the food by an act of piracy on the high seas.

Actually, I rather like this logic.

It might mean that any sea-borne bulk curry/kebab carriers in the Bracknell area might need to travel in convoy, escorted by warships though.

I can see you all thinking "Bracknell isn't anywhere near the sea"

Hah!....that's where my master plan of promoting the melting of the Antarctic ice-shelf by profligate combustion of hydrocarbon fuels comes into play.

I've just had a search around Goggle, and in 2000 the average increased to size 14. Scarey stuff really.
A size 14 is scary?

If you're scared of womanly curves and prefer a boyish body I guess it is ...

I think the extrapolation that the average female size increases by 2..um..whatever those units are....every 9 years is the scary part.

It might lead us to revisit some of the announcements by astronomers recently about the number of planets we can observe orbiting other stars, based on gravitational wobble and occlusion of the light from the star - if the progression of female size according the formula above is valid, then these aren't gas giant planets we're seeing, but simply massive hippocrocomoosepigs.

You know, I might get a Nobel Prize for this.

My lovely size 12 wife has a 20+ stone friend, who used to cut the size labels out of her clothes so no one would realise that she was fat... rolleyes

On the point of view that it should be illegal to poke fun at fatties, does that work both ways? I am 6'2" and weigh 11.5 stone, so I get ribbed A LOT at work for being thin. In fact, on the whole, the fatties very rarely get made fun of because they always run off (ok, waddle off) crying and make a big deal about it, whereas I get stick quite a lot. Should I sue?

No, you should buy a massive cream cake at lunchtime and eat it noisily in front of them.

Any one wathc Van Wilder?

Make the fatties some "Cream" cakes in the same fashion then show them the pictures of how the cream cakes were filled, i doubt they would be able to look at one without throwing up after that.

Does the BBC Read PH's?

Psychologist Ros Taylor agrees. "There is true aggression towards overweight people and it comes down to fear and a complete lack of understanding of the issue.

"People think 'I can control what I put in my mouth so why can't they'. But we're not all the same, we don't all start from the same point."

The perception that excess weight is largely down to a lack of self-control annoys many overweight people. They say it results in them being associated with laziness and greed, neither of which people like.

"I'm a qualified fitness trainer and healthier than a lot of my slimmer friends, but all these people see is that I'm larger and jump to conclusions," says Kathryn Szrodecki, who is 18 stone (114kg) and campaigns on behalf of overweight people.

Guilty

"We're simply not all built to be slim, our genetic make-ups are all different."

This. I don't mind a size 14 girl as long as she's fairly tall, has the curves in the right places, and dresses for her size.

Another size 14 friend of mine is one of the hottest women I've ever met, although she looked even better before she had her boobs reduced from a FF to a C cup :sigh:
