...does the lid fit on the other end of the pen when it is 'in use'? (logos then all being the same way up)

Strictly speaking yes, but its not a snug fit - its actually quite loose and would easily slide off inverted the right way up.

My initial view when I saw that was "good work". But that's because I'm used to exceptionally low standards; round here when the Council or utilities have had some block paving up they sling the blocks away that they've used and fill in with tarmac thus leaving a blot on the landscape forever. They've even done it on where a few years back they laid polished stone surfaces that looked good.

Can't see why they can't carefully lift the stones and replace afterwards. Assume it's low standards of work, supervision, management oversight at every level.
