Gutted for all Drag racers at Santa Pod today (and yesterday), hope for a change tomorrow,
but not a change to the worse like some years ago when they had white stuff on their vans & tents in the morning !
Just on that note, we were intending to go on Sunday but they've issued the following advice. If they're advising not to go it must be really bad but not a change to the worse like some years ago when they had white stuff on their vans & tents in the morning !

URGENT: FESTIVAL OF POWER TICKET ANNOUNCEMENT
Due to the recent bad weather, more rain forecast and muddy, waterlogged car parks, we regret to inform all non-ticket holders that we are now unable to offer any further tickets for sale for this weekend’s Festival of Power.
Further heavy rain is forecast in the next 24 hours and although Sunday’s forecast is better, it is pretty clear that the venue car parks and campsites are at their limit to accommodate further vehicles and traffic movement. Advance ticket holders are also advised not to attend and non-attendees will be offered a 100% credit value on their tickets to be used at a future event (see adverse weather ticket policy).
Should you be in possession of an advance ticket and still choose to turn up, then please think very carefully about your decision especially if bringing children. You will need plenty of stoicism, patience, a suitable vehicle and wellies! The car parks are incredibly muddy and some areas are simply unusable so space is limited AND not guaranteed. If you do decide to risk turning up, then only our normal adverse weather policy will apply which may be a lower credit or none at all depending on the track action.
This decision has not been taken lightly and we know many of you will be incredibly disappointed but in the interests of your health, safety and enjoyment, then we feel this is our only option and to forewarn as early as possible.

Yeah, first time I read that from SPR and I have been to some wet weekends there,
once my tent was a water castle in the middle of an 8" lake, the (tight) floor waved like a water bed when I was inside,
track was still dried and racing somehow possible, I know the track crew will do their best and keep fingers crossed for the teams.

d freezing again today and tomorrow.... and then pissing down just about all day, EVERY day for the next 5 days after that.
I'll say again, this has been THE most miserable winter I've ever known
I'll agree with that, I cant think of such a grey miserable last 6 months. I can count the high and dry days on one hand.![](/inc/images/censored.gif)

I think it's been a lovely winter. When it's been cold it's been snowy, when it's been overcast it's been snowy. Anything is better than middling temperatures and rain. Lots of reservoirs in the Peak are surprisingly low, given the volume of snow. Spring proper will kick off bang on the last week of April I reckon, about two weeks late for the Peaks.

Indeed, and more winter sunshine than I've ever known (which is why it's been so crap down south, when it's good there it's generally crap here - see August! - but vice versa).Chicken Chaser said:
