Which picture? Just of it?
My route back takes me over the Forth Road Bridge. There's a nice big lay-by just North of the bridge which I could dump the artic in and walk to the bridge, but this lay-by has been full of wide loads or just normal lorries every time I've tried before.

I just want a nice night-time (0500ish) shot of it.

I know where you mean. If you are there without a trailer or with a car at some point and you can go in to North Queensferry and get some really nice photos of both bridges. I will be taking my car there at Christmas.

Papa Hotel, of this parish, who appears to be an Edinburgh local, offered to meet up with me there and guide me to a great vantage point.

Until I mentioned at what time I'd be getting there...

I want a good macro lens for my D3200. What should I go for? I've currently got the standard 17-55mm and a telephoto 70-300mm. Should I go for a single length lens with a large aperture?

For me, part of the joy of photography is that there's no such thing as a perfect photo. You can go back to the same place every day and the light will be different, you'll shoot a slightly different angle, the clouds will be in a different pattern, etc.

One day I want to live on a west-facing coast so I can take a picture of the sunset every day...
