Inigo Montoya and Vizzini

One of my all time favourite films with the best swordfight of any film I have seen.

I have returned to my native north east. To an empty house, devoid of all warmth, food, parents and a working fridge freezer.

But I have internet!

And the new fridge freezer arrived tomorrow apparently.

Speaking of the future... Something occurred to me today.

You know the bit in Back to the Future when Marty McFly says 'Let's see if you b@stards can do 90'?

They didn't need to do 90. All they needed to do was stop, aim and fire. The rocket would have done the best part of 300mph probably.

Had this conversation with my Dad today over Sunday Lunch.

Was Marty McFly's engine a proper Volvo or a generic GM product?

Okay, some of the aftermarket parts weren't true Halford's catalogue listings, but you have to ask.

I read an interesting bit on the Delorean on Thursday (while standing beside one). Apparently the original design brief was to make a sports car for 'larger stature' people. They are pretty wide cars. Horrendously underpowered without having two fatties in it too.

Ellis loves them!

In the Delorean? Renault V6.

IF I understand the question correctly the engine in the DeLorean is the PRV douvrin v6, shared between Peugeot,Renault and Volvo (hence the PRV bit)

130bhp out of 2.8 litres with a 3 speed auto in the states
150bhp in europe.

Neither an earth shattering amount of power.

Delorean sent the car to Lotus and they had to re-engineer it.

It's a sad day when lotus are putting cars together better than you are!

Just been reading wiki, I never knew they were based on the esprit platform and apparently the prototypes handled very well until DMC raised the front ride height and ruined them

Dad took us around Italy for our summer holibobs in his R30 V6. It was a overheaty and head-warpy thermostat closie thing. But 10 X better than that dreadful BMW we had. Never, ever again.

I'd start saving for that new clutch.
