The article said:
BBC said:
When the BBC approached the Metropolitan and Merseyside Police forces they were vague about any dealings with Joe. Merseyside said they would not confirm or deny that they had followed up on his information, or that they had actively contacted him

A spokesperson for the Met said: "We welcome any information from people who feel they are able to assist.

"We are unaware of any inquiries significantly progressed solely by information provided by a psychic medium."
Now thats a first class example of conformation bias.

And with the advent of technology/ smartphones , wouldn't this increase be more easily evidenced considering everyone has a camera on them 24/7 now?

He's answered that earlier in the thread.

"That's our world, not theirs".

Also explains that items that move mysteriously from one place to another never do so in the millions, if not billions, of shops, offices, warehouses and homes covered by CCTV.

Convinced now?

If paranormal activity was caused by 'ghosts' or by people that have died, wouldn't we see an increase of paranormal activity year on year, as the amount of dead increased?

Everyone's still waiting for evidence... and there still hasn't been any.
Go out and actively look, go to a psychic, then come back here and give an opinion.

Go to a psychic as you're in no place to criticise anybody as you've got zilch experience. Go to one and then come back here and tell everyone its crap and doesnt exist.

No thanks, because I don't believe in supporting fraudsters who exploit the vulnerable and mentally weak for their person gain.

HTH.

Sometimes you don't need personal experience. I've never been to the South Pole but I know it's fking cold.

That's science we know. We're talking about experiences here and you are in no position to comment whatsoever until you've had that experience.

You've chosen the easy option which is predictable. 'Don't know don't want to find out but still give definitive answer'

Been to psychic yet?

Spoken to anyone face to face and been told of their experiences?

No thought not

Let us know when you have and then you might be qualified to give an opinion.

So the psychic's 'science' the general scientific community doesnt know about is exclusively known by oddities who work out of say a shipping container on the beach front in Blackpool?

No nobel prizes for them unfortunately. How unjust!

You dont think that if it was real, EVERYONE would know about it and psychics would be the richest most powerful people in the world rather than say working out of an establishment like below? Ever seen Minority Report - you know its not a documentary right?

Come on man. Think!

I train detective's for a large UK police force, including homicide investigation. The police don't use psychics.

As part of the CID course, until he died, there was a whole day input from the SIO for the Soham
murders. The SIO was the guy that ran the investigation; he set policies and strategy and directed the course of the enquiry in exhaustive details. On one occasion, a trainee detective asked him what he thought about the Soham psychic's book.

His reply was blunt - "bks".

V6, do you find it unusual that so many of these supernatural things are in your vicinity?
Most people have one unusual story to tell in a lifetime that is relatively inexplicable but you seem to have hundreds. Healers.Ghosts. Haunted Vacuum cleaners. Psychics, long-dead crow murderers.
Not to mention the number of them that occur in pubs.

There is a serious point behind that. You get frustrated at people being so closed-minded and yet when one internet person has dozens of experiences, you surely must be able to appreciate the following thought process:
V6 is either
1) Some kind of ghost whisperer who attracts all kinds of supernatural
2) A liar
3) A bit mad.

Even in the offchance that there is some unusual stuff out there that cant be explained by science, do you honestly think you and your anecdotes are any kind of evidence?

I've spoken to three people that claimed to be psychic, one more so than the others.

Two of them told me they could see auras, but gave conflicting information about what colour mine was. Although I think the one that told me my aura was black was a bit miffed as I didn't appear to be taking her seriously, she was the one who most loudly proclaimed her special abilities. She did correctly tell me that I had pain in my life, but that's true of most people I'd imagine.

The other was a cousin of a friend and was less aggressive with it, she told me my aura was light blue (I think, I'd had a bit to drink) and gave no dire warnings about my spiritual well being. I've certainly not become a better person in between the events, assuming that blue is better but less slimming than black.

The third is my Aunt, the one who apparently saw my grandmother waving to tell her it was time while I stood behind her waving to tell my uncles it was time. Thus effectively guessing what was going on.

So in my experience it's all been a bit ineffectual.

The believers on this thread are as unlikely to be swayed by my dealings with the supernatural as I am by theirs. As I said earlier it depends how you're wired up.
I see something I don't understand or can't explain and have a think about what it might be, others jump the questioning phase and find answers in the paranormal.

This morning my wife's new Sonos system suddenly started blaring rock music at full volume when I was alone in the house - nearly crapped myself as I was sitting near the main speaker when it happened! 2 minutes later I got a text from my youngest (at school) saying "Do you hear music?" smile

Will kill him later, didn't know that you could access via the web.
