in all seriousness - Vauxhalls is dead right. They are a strange phenomenon. If they're brand new and the latest shape/version then they're pretty inoffensive, however the instant that they are superseded (facelift etc) then in a flash they become uber-chav and seem to be driven by utter mouth-breathing scrotes.

Totally agree with this - in particular I've never see one of those ugly Vectra C models that always have yellowing headlights not being driven badly by a total scrote. I don't even remember them existing before they were about 6 years old, it's like they left the factory with dull paint and looking rather down at heel.

I suppose they are dirt cheap to buy once they are past three years old, really cheap for parts etc, and unlike most stuff that's cheap they are really quite robust. Makes good sense if you're skint like most scrotes.

Is any brand of car safe to own according to PH?

I can't say I have noticed Vauxhall owners being any worse than many other brands.

I feel I should add to this list older Civic Type R's, older BMW's and older Audi's. All seem to be chavved up and driven by weapons in my local area. I have only seen one Vauxhall butchered recently.

It appears that TVR are immune, MX5 was the answer to everything and the BMW 335d (remapped) is a forum favourite.

BZZZZZT! Wrong!

Having a broken down, leaking, fibreglass banger (with that fibreglass piss smell) sat rotting on the drive is about as council as it gets.

Next story down.

Poor little soul. He looks such a sensitive well adjusted child.
Bloody hell he looks like a nasty little doesn't he.
Not very nice of the photographer to make them sit in the gutter for their hard-done-by portrait.

Unfortunately the E90 BMW is following the well trodden (driven...?) path of chav/councildom that almost all 3 series follow before become they either disappear or become collectible, and the older ones are there now I think... frown

How about an Alfa?
Now they may not ever make it to a council estate as they have all rotted or broken down, but...

Definitely. Particularly if they have M colours in the grille, smoked lights and extra M badges

Council Alfas tend to be two things
1. Modded
2. Battered

When you text everyone on gumtree ‘best price mate cash’ only the people whose cars are about to grenade will take this seriously. £80 more-for an uncarefully stolen spoiler hopefully in the wrong colour - and away you go.

I'm not defending them in any way, but I'm sure that trying to get from Miles Platting to Withington on the bus would be a fking nightmare.
According to the Manchester travel app, there is a bus from Manchester city centre (which is walking distance from Miles Platting) - 35 minutes and no changes. There is no need for several buses as they claim in the article.

The biggest nightmare of bus travel between Miles Platting and Withington is for normal people having to share a bus with scrotes taking their out of control brats to the pupil referral unit.

I'm amazed that they aren't demanding the council lay on a taxi complete with escort.

1. Vauxhall
2. Awful aftermarket wheels
3. Interesting sticker on the rear window

Apologies for the photo quality, I don’t have the latest iPhone.

3 series distinction. Can be deployed at any point in the last 20 years.

Current 3 series : looks funny, trying too hard, flashy
Previous 3 series :best looking
One before that (standard): kinda cool, old money
One before that (not standard) :chavvy -next progression after modded VXR/RS

Older than that one (Standard) : retired PHer dog/station/wife wagon
Older than that one (Modded) : probably on bricks outside a flat roof pub in a northern town.

Any older than that are either utter stboxes, appreciating classic or - if in a wordy dealer ad - both.
