Me and my girlfriend have chatted about the whole dating scene and she said that when she was single she tried a few sites. She would line up dates with as many eligibles as she fancied when she was bored and just enjoy the free lunches. Apparently if you are peckish and have an hour to fill then you can do a lot worse than Match.com...
She was lucky. I know quite a few guys who only offer their share on first date to test the waters. Hasn't done them any harm either.
I think if a current girlfriend told me she was doing that she'd quickly become an ex girllfriend...

So the first date should be a Spoons so it's cheapish, but reasonable in that you both know what you're getting, and whether you want to see each other again.
The legover second date is where you can splash the cash

if she was keen to lie for a free lunch then are you not concerned that she went a bit further to be bought presents... that's immediately where my mind went as it is a logical extension of the same thing!

the risk is going to spoons on a first date may leave the date thinking you were one of those people who only ever want to go to spoons and think everything else is too expensive. In a way fair enough, but many people who aren't even that materialistic might draw the line at that kind of miser.

Definitely drinks on a first date, ideally late enough so that food doesn’t enter into the equation at all.

I’ve had too many dates that end up in drinks and food and, despite having a good time and talking about follow-ups, they never lead anywhere. Other than me being £200 poorer (because London).

I am sorry to say that the majority of women I know would be horrified at the idea of walking into a Spoons, let alone eating there. Rightly or wrongly (I couldn't give a fook and quite enjoy a good spoons). Horses for courses I guess but a date there, unless you are 15, seems more experimental than a realistic proposition to seek a relationship.

If she's buying she can pick wherever she likes.

They want all the benefits of equality with none of the downsides. Having a vagina gives you massive benefits, they don't want to give those away.

Going back to online dating, I have come across loads of women who have been on POF for years, usually with the same pictures. One woman I met admitted she had been on there for 7 years. I don't know exactly what they are waiting for, but I don't think the Brad Pitt lookalike with a £500k job, tats, property portfolio and the right blend of bad boy/good guy traits is interested in a 43 year old "full time mum to my princesses", living in a council house, no job and 2 staffies.

They are just pump and dump fodder while waiting to land the big wallet.
I've missed your posts, Joey.

So still can't join up to POF...even tried signing up at my brothers house using his WiFi and a throw away email address...god knows whats going on there.

Anyway...matched with someone I've seen on Tinder a few times. She messaged me first. Shes a nurse. Meeting next week when we are both free.
I don't know what it is about nurses, but during my time on such dating sites, it seemed to be rife with them, maybe the unsociable hours makes it difficult meeting someone or keeping someone?

Logical head on. There are somewhere around 700k nurses in the UK, the vast majority female and aged 21-60.

Law of averages says you're going to bump into a lot of them.

What surprised me was the number of doctors on Bumble, loads of them.

In my experience the former is true. The latter is not.

That said, they are mutually exclusive, again in my experience.

Shocking grammar aside, it was the 'doesn't look her age' comment that I felt was most worthy of comment. This could be good.

That is some going. Fair play to you and I used to quite like the Mrs Robinson types. The issue arises when you get 10 years on from where you are now IMO.
