So still can't join up to POF...even tried signing up at my brothers house using his WiFi and a throw away email address...god knows whats going on there.

Anyway...matched with someone I've seen on Tinder a few times. She messaged me first. Shes a nurse. Meeting next week when we are both free.
I don't know what it is about nurses, but during my time on such dating sites, it seemed to be rife with them, maybe the unsociable hours makes it difficult meeting someone or keeping someone?

Do you guys find Match better than the free sites, POF/Tinder etc ?
I'd expect it to have better results because of the paywall. Far less women on there solely for the ego stroking.

I do wonder with some women on the likes of POF when they state in their bio "been here for over a year now and not having any luck, prove me wrong guys' or similar, they either have very high standards or are lookng for something they wont find on POF

For me, that would mean either there's something not quite there about their in-person demeanor which turns off prospective partners on dates, or they're an out and out unicorn hunter.

I've noticed dating sites are like a drug to certain people (of both sexes), whereby even when they're in a relationship - they're always looking for better. As if they can't settle for an imperfect person because there's an unending smorgasbord of new potentials on POF/Match etc.

For some people, once they've gotten stuck into that machine, it's very hard to get back out again.

I've started playing a game where I guess the only information in their bio is their Insta handle based on scrolling through the photos.

I reckon I'm right more than 50% of the time and when I'm wrong they usually write nothing.

I'd have to talk to them for that to happen.

So the first date should be a Spoons so it's cheapish, but reasonable in that you both know what you're getting, and whether you want to see each other again.
Well, only if you want to put yourself out there as a guy who thinks spoons is a decent place to go.

Bumble, what internet expert came up with the unique selling point of putting the one gender that very rarely makes the first move, fully in charge of making the first move!!!!

I had never heard of it until a date told me she was on it, so I took a look.

She was not impressed with it at all, but as I had been the one to do all the ground work on match with her, where we met, I can see the reason why.

Even the most outgoing/ feminist of dates I have had all expected the man to do the chasing and lead the online conversation even in todays modern times.

I assume they market the app in womans magazines etc as there are plenty of profiles on there.

Anyone having much joy with it? its the least successful of all the ones I have tried so far.

I've been on it for a while.

Had a few matches, but none's actually said anything to break the ice so they've just sat there.

I do wonder how many of the users actually realise that it's the woman who has to make the first move?

Ive had more success from Bumble than anything else recently. It seems to attract a different sort of girl than Tinder - there are a lot of doctors, nurses, teachers, etc on there, and far fewer of the single mothers.

That probably sounds all kind of stereotypical, but whatever, its from personal experience.

Guessing a lot is to do with location as well, POF and Tinder seem to be like night and day depending where you are. Had a few days in London recently, the quality of the messages were vastly better on both than back home in Cardiff. Bumble must be the same then.

Yes , what is it with lovely ladies , they gladly save your life , but go like a rabbit at every opportunity . Used to quote the death and nurses line many many years ago then ended up marrying one , bingo .

Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this?

I'm on a few dating sites and have been exchanging e-mails with some young, pretty Russian
girls, who all became keen to come over and then beetled off. That's an obvious story.

Lately though, this keeps happening. I get, 'Philomena has added you to her favouties, message her for free'.
I duly go the write to Philomena, Euphemia rf whoever and see, 'This profile has been deactivated' or 'Inactive member'.

So what gives? I've been nothing but a gent throughout and wonderwhat's going on? Am I being blocked? Or do the ladies
express a preference and instantly bottle out?

Confused of Cumbria.

There was a spate on match where scammers were using stolen credit card details out side of normal working hours to create profiles with the ability to send messages, they would be active for a few days before being found by the site and deleted, but in that time they could fire off the "my subscription is about to expire but this is my email" etc etc to try to maintain contact once the account was deactivated.

Sounds like something similar is happening where you are.
