I have a Golf with DSG and decided that I need paddle shift extensions.

Options were:
  1. Cheap plastic tat that uses 3M double sided-tape to stick to the stock paddles (under a tenner)
  2. Slightly nicer aluminium ones that use grub screws to bite into the stock paddles (around £30)
  3. Gorgeous CNC milled aluminium paddles that completely replace the stock paddles. Minor works of art. (around £190)
I may have just accidentally gone for option 3. paperbag

(Although I did manage to find a seller with 10% off list price)

That's all very well and might be important to some - but how big are the garage and shed ? Careful, 'cos it might cease to be frivolous.
Large garage, lots of parking room. New (large) shed to be purchased wink
Wrong thread then. biggrinbiggrin

I found I never had a screwdriver handy so I ordered this from eBay: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/EDC-Outdoor-Tool-Screwd...

It took weeks to arrive from China, but has the 4 screwdriver tips, 2 sizes of hex, a LED torch and a bottle opener. All for the princely sum of £2.52 delivered. Now for £2.52 I thought it would be badly made junk. But no. The packaging and instructions are for CKRT - Columbia River & Tool in the USA - who supply pretty decent stuff. On their website they sell it for $19.99.
So 10 weeks later mine still hasnt arrived.
I'm a bit miffed so have asked for a refund.

Who said international takes forever!? My PP4 has landed today from Amazon USA, it was only ordered on Monday afternoon!

I'm completely blown away by the delivery speed, it wasn't much slower than regular UK domestic Amazon Prime (which got me the PP Lead set and scope meter delivered yesterday!)

I've already got a decent current I7 laptop with 8gb ram and 512gb SSD which I run my business from. I've also got a Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 which is great to take about and do bits on. Therefore I have absolutely zero need for this, but I've still backed it and paid extra for the 512gb SSD. Entirely pointless but I'm hoping it delivers and is decent. I'm unsure for what purpose though.

That's a proper small screen.
I can't imagine actually doing anything desktop based on it. The text must be tiny in any real world docs etc.
How is that any better than this?

Sure it's cheaper, but it's not very well resolved, is it? It looks like a portable TV from the 90s, or the in flight entertainment unit from the same period...
I think your frivolometer needs a reboot.
I'm with him on this... that looks like a terrible device to actually use. Also looks very amateurish in styling, ports and usability... maybe 15 years ago it would have looked cool. But really... these days?

Also... Windows 10 on that small a device, I'd rather st in my hands and clap.
They are still missing the 2 things I want in the same device, Sim card and touch screen, refuse to tether something like thatwhen its a go anywhere pc.

If someone did a 7-8 inch tablet with all the power these 2 had and windows 10, would be all over it like a rash.

plus $50 upgrade to 512GB.... hmmm They seem to be getting an excellent deal on that, as that component alone is $150-200 for that one piece

Talking of frivolous, and music..

I hired Angel recording studio 1, a bunch of musicians and a conductor to record music that I knew would never earn me any money or be published. Just music I wanted to hear.

Frivolous money well spent!

Put the music on Spotify, setup a playlist for said music and get about 100 different accounts to listen to the playlist on repeat. Enjoy the money.

Big week and really chuffed. Son desperate to learn to ride motorbike so took plunge and got honda crf125 for him. Great wee starter bike. Obviously can't run alongside him so in spirit of father/son playtime got a bike for myself. Rather special triumph 350 trials, built the year I was born, 1966. Finally, to get places, a new trailer. First outing last weekend, fantastic.

You're missing the point, recheck the topic of the thread.

Mini-PC now upgraded to 16gb and a better processer apparently, will see whether it actually gets delivered.

I was quite surprised when I asked Alexa "Play music by Steve Carter". Seems I'm already all over Spotify!

Ha! Careful, the good ones go for over a million GBP. Next time I see Nick (in the pic), I'll ask how much his is worth. I'd be surprised if it were less than an new full spec RS6.

I just had a look on Amazon, 296€ with a bag and a bow biggrin

Maybe I'll buy another Guitar instead then, I could put it next to all the others in the guest room.

Also love this, I got a Kawasaki KE100 when I was still in school to use offroad (parents live in countryside with dirt tracks and forests accessible without going on roads)
It was hands down the best thing I ever got at that age, I had saved for some time to go towards it but parents helped as a birthday present.
No idea how many hours were spent on it, but I was out on it almost daily even through winter in a foot of snow!

A friend of mine has a mint first edition copy (the glossy hardback with extra photos) of Sled Driver for sale.
Can I really justify spending a week's wages on it though? read

Yes.

I happened across a PDF version of it and read the lot. I have been waiting to buy a copy for my coffee table.

I have bought and read most things SR-71 related.

Go for it.
