Couldn't resist this old enamel sign - local business, now gone sadly but very much a legend here in Bath.
I am gutted. Remember the sign in the Window when I was a student

‘No Stairway!’
There was one in Swindon too!!!
Remember the Swindon one well, think my dad bought some Mordaunt Short speakers from them and we bought a violin from them for my daughter 15 or so years ago (it closed in 2007). it's now a Subway (worst restaurant ever can't even bear to walk pasrt one).

What's the range like? The amazon reviews have a common them that you basically have to be on top of the winged sods before it really works.

A new leather and wood fly swat, to replace the perfectly functional plastic fly swat we already have. I hope the flies appreciate the quality in their final few milliseconds...
Have you seen these:

Now with laser sights! biggrin
ETA - Just beaten to it. Also just noticed the can of raid in the pic, maybe you could make some raid infused salt to combine the two scratchchin

Presumably you could use it to snipe slugs from afar though?

I haven't checked the entire thread, so apologies if this has already been mentioned but.........

I am very very tempted to order one of those electric unicycle things they have in the B&Q advert. Having looked them up, some of them go surprisingly far (~20 miles) and can even reach a terrifying ~20mph!

Anybody got one? I would look like a fat middle aged tt - but the thought of that isn't putting me off.......

On the subject of signs, went into a junk shop last weekend that I've been passing for years but never stopped to venture in. I could have spent a small fortune. I fell utterly in love with this huge sign:

Got home, did a bit of research and it's an old destination blind from a London bus that has been stuck down to the weightiest piece of MDF in the world. Loved it so much I went back and bought the other he had ??
Wasn't overly frivolous though, in fact I think £45 each was a bargain as I've seen single blinds on their own reach more.
Excellent.

I have an original 'Metropolitan Line' above the door of my studio.

The living room in the new house is now being decorated around the signs. I studied Graphic Design so the font appeals to me as much as anything. I suspect your sign is worth a few quid now!

If you look down the sights properly, you can get a good kill first time pretty much every time from about two feet away. Sometimes if you go right up to the target it is less accurate (shotgun effect). The really tiny gnat type ones can be shot easier, even when moving, from a greater distance. I’ve had a couple where the hit is clean but the hardy sod gets up and flies away after recovering, depends on how nails the fly is I suppose.

I’d sat 90% of shots are deadly at about 2ft, nearly all shots knock the fly off the wall and into a position where it can be despatched easily, if not a kill. We had a random infestation over the last week, annoying side (hence this and the raid!) but it’s dyinf down now, almost a shame as I like using the gun.

This has been epic too, this is two weeks worth of flies...

Nice find! I got the pig DS&P had in the shop (which had actually been sponsored by the Framing Workshop)...bought it in the closing down auction in which they flogged off all the stock. It’s a shame the shop is gone frown

Even more frivolous than my purchase - excellent work!
Even worse than the wing'd horse of chav tat.
