You know the thread will take an upturn when you post; always some truly masterful frivolity! Just as well, you've got more space to fill in the new house!

I need to get some new friends. They are being surprisingly unsupportive of my idea to buy an electric unicycle......

Not happy with the measly 40 kg strength magnet I got a few months ago (it does a very good job holding takeaway leaflets etc to the fridge) just waiting for a 120kg upgrade to arrive.

Haha don't even go there. Already planning on buying The Kurgen sword when I get back from holiday.

Highlander was one of my favourite movies as a teenager, I adored Christopher Lambert. Went to the Birmingham Comic Con last weekend, met him and got a Highlander poster signed (probably also slightly frivolous) but it reminded me that the sword has been on my want list for a while.

A bean to face coffee machine, I had an old tassimo machine, but the coffee is a bit st tbh.

Previously £469 which I can't believe for a second, ordered last week for £198. Bring it on!

It's about £240-280 usually, so £198 is a very good buy. It's an excellent machine with an almost cult-like following.

Where did you get it for £198 if I may ask?

hotukdeals had it last Friday before it sold out, there was a 10% off code. Comes with £45 worth of freebies that don't add up to £45 too!

https://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/delongi-magnifica...

Code still works, but the price is up to £215.09

ETA: 10% not 20% still a decent price though. Just checked my emails and it's been delivered to a neighbour. bounce

That reminded me of the 1980's Kia Ora advert. So I went looking on YouTube and found it. Oh my goodness, talk about racial stereotypes! I don't think anyone would dare run an advert like that today.

Definitely. I doubt I’ll ever see as much death in one place, hope not. Smells as you say like actual death too. In ours maggots have hatched, doomed to a shorter life than normal of course. We actually worry now that the thing is ATTRACTING more to our house. There must be 10000 flies in there.

I believe it has a strong pheromone smell that attracts the first flies who absorb the material and magnify the smell/attraction, thus attracting more. The advice is to pour it on a compost heap when it’s full, the whole thing is so grim we aren’t sure what to do with it.

Indeed, very very effective.

Is it good?

I am forever buggering about trying to find the ideal coffee... I have a little Gaggia machine for making espresso, and have recently been making filter coffee with one of those cones with a paper filter over a mug.

It's all good - but not exceptional. I could be tempted by a bigger machine and bean to face does appeal.
