Shotgun Safe - Metal Key or Numeric Keycode?
Discussion
I've got a 2 key safe (although only for air rifles).
One key is tucked in with my little grab bag of shooting stuff, which is not marked as anything and tucked away out of sight in the house; the other is on my key ring, so if I'm not in the house, even finding the one key wouldn't help much. It's really quite unlikely anyone would find both in a hurry.
The spares are in the attic... quicker to take the safe off the wall, frankly (possibly even for me!)

"All LCD safes are also provided with two emergency keys that allow manual access"
So, 2 keys you still need to hide then....
Indeed, but they can be stored securely off site as they are not needed for day to day access, unlike a regular key operated safe, where the keys need to be kept "at hand".So, 2 keys you still need to hide then....
I think you're being overly paranoid and buying too big personally but if you want to, hey who am I to argue if you've got the means to do so.
If it was me I'd buy a gun and use the £200 odd quid you've shelled out extra on the big cahoona burger safe on getting it fitted and some lessons so I could become better.
You'll forget you've got a gun soon enough, it'll be part of your everyday life so it won't be a novelty. Be sensible and you'll be fine.

Are you allowed/supposed to keep the ammo and the guns in the same safe?
Ammo takes up much more space than the guns and no (legal) requirements for storage. Just keep them dry.I buy all my shells in multiples of 2000, and given that I keep good stock of both plastic and fibre wad, both sporting and skeet loads, and both premium and budget variants, the boxes stack up quite high...
