Been a lovely day today, quite nice outside tonight, do still and calm, proper calm before the storm!

The real threads are the STORMAGEDDON THREADS done by another more incisive and better read contributor.
However the impending Armageddon weather bomb is too much to be argued over. This is the big one and its important we all post information to help each other through the crisis.

Weird, just gone dark. Enough to bring on all the street lights. S Wales BTW.

Edit. More like evening now. Cannot see the houses out the back clearly.

Yup really strange dark with a yellow tinge. It was quite eerie. I thought a hell of storm. Was going to come next but nope.

I started out in Bridgend this morning, it was strange, so grey all the way to Carmarthen, now I'm in Pembroke it's bright and sunny but so bloody windy! I'm in the power station so right on the coast, the van is getting battered

I'm in south Lincolnshire. We have a very weird, quite dark and hazy sky. It feels like it's evening time. I'm seeing lights on and its getting fairly windy here.

Bike ride home will be fun as I will have the wind in my face all the way.

Dust on the car this morning too. Presumably the storm's picked up a load of sand en route.

I'm in central London, right by Tower Bridge, and it looks like midnight outside. Orange midnight, however! Really weird.

I didn't expect to see much in the way of hurricane effects here, I thought we were too far east.

Apparently the orange is to do with Sahara Sand and the Sun

That’s us in the middle of the link below.

Jeez it’s grim, and looks like going to get worse.

Same in Blackwood area looked like we were in for a storm. Street lights all come back on as well. Hour later all cleared and clear sky and sunny pretty warm too.

Its worse here. If it wasn't for the street lights and the illuminated Tesco sign I'd be lost

Just saw the long range forecast and came on here to ask.

Is it a good likelihood to hit? Staying down near Falmouth so will have to pop over onto the Lizard to a couple of favourite spots for a peek around if there is a big swell on.

Yesterday we (near Bradford) had orange skies and a lot of dust and sand on cars. Having washed them on Sunday obviously!
From the local paper: "Ophelia's southerly winds have picked up dust from the African desert which has been supplemented by smoke particles from forest fires in Portugal and Spain which are now over the UK".
