My employer did something once, but not much. Then they dropped it (but kept International Women's Day). Then the money ran out and they dropped that too.

I've never been in favour of specific days for something because it feels like it's arbitrary and not important on the other 364 days.

I have to ask, why do you continue to sign your posts with an abbreviation for a made-up name? It's very odd and doesn't make sense. Your name is right there next to your posts, it's visible to everyone. Even if it were your real name, it would be a bit like whatsapping your mates and putting your initials on the bottom of every message.

Not trying to be rude at all but it's always puzzled me.
Maybe he refers to himself as Terminator X in real life. His weird little alter ego
Because it sounds better than Norman Rogers AKA Terminator X.

It's 2023, oppression and being 'disadvantaged' is all the rage.

Your problems can always be someone else's fault and not your own.

Remember, it's not you, it's everyone else.....
Sure is, if a transperson can feel oppressed when someone calls
them a pronoun they dislike then adult male humans
have a right to claim to be oppressed by a society that blatantly
favours wimmin in divorce and custody tussles.

Spot on, I would say your average woman is more valued in society than the 99.999999% of men who are not running the world and are largely anonymous to everyone.

They are already trying to eliminate us from the media by pushing the message that everyone in society is trans, gay or in a mixed race relationship. Just think how often a white, middle aged man is portrayed in an advert other than as an object of ridicule.

Plus as a man there is nobody to bail you out and provide a house and financial support to allow you to stay at home all day.

I say damn right we need an International Men's Day, it is just a shame that the media want to keep it quiet.

Suicide rates are much higher in men than in woman and women don't get sent to fight in wars.
You need to get over whatever happened to you in the past. This level of bitterness is only hurting you at this point.

Though perhaps Joey is doing things to promote Men's Day rather than just waiting for the media to do so?

What do we want?

More recognition for men!

When do we want it?

Not sure. Need to check with the wife. She looks after our social calendar. I might be able to get a pass for a week next Tuesday. I’ll get back to you.

I agree it seems odd on a forum...but then why do we consider it polite in email? They can see your email name right there if you're using a modern email system. Humans are odd things.
