Kidding? Sorry; couldn't resist a very poor pun.

Sorry for the slow response.

Not one of the big ones.
It's mostly a fairly small group of invited friends and acquaintances that has grown up over the last three years.
No offence intended, but I am not sure how much publicity 'the management' would appreciate, it is all pretty low key, though well organised.
I've asked the question.

No worries, I was introduced to the Black Wolf club, but my location in Gloucs made it difficult to commit to regular meetings.

I think nearly very nearly everyone [in the club] is London based aside from myself.
All club events, and informal meet ups are in central London, roughly speaking, between St James and the West End.

There was talk a little earlier ( a couple of pages back) in the thread about a general PH get together in London for cigar smokers. But no one seems to have jumped at the suggestion.

There have been a few PH cigar evenings, one at 10 Manchester Street and one at Dunhill's. Both reasonably well attended and quite enjoyable if somewhat drunken evenings.

I have had this thread open for just over two years and don't recall any suggestions.
Just had a quick blast through from page 1, and I see quite a few have stopped posting, if not stopped reading. A shame.
I may well have missed seeing any arranged meets prior to Dec 2015.

Well, the suggestion is out there again...

Does anyone have any suggestions for a good cigar bar in Manhattan? I am here for ten days and am tempted to visit The Carnegie Club, but I am open to suggestions.

Sorry Paul, not my part of the world but likewise, I am also seeking some advice because I will be passing through Doha airport in a few weeks time on the way home from work (they fked up by booking me on Qatar instead of Emirates) and wondering what their current cuban selection is like if anyone has recent experience?

Mmm, I have not been through Doha but a quick internet search does not look too promising. Last time I was in that part of the world was Abu Dhabi where the selection and prices were pretty good.

Perhaps Doha has new facilities now, please keep us posted...smile

I have heard great things about Nat Sherman on 12 E 42nd St. (Never been there myself though).

I actually work for said Airline. Doha has a few selections but not familiar with Dubai. Good walk in humidor.

Music to my ears! smile

I was hoping someone came along and said they had a walk in. Dubai has a few dotted around but the quality has dropped somewhat since 2015/6 imo.

Any idea on the current quality or stock in Doha? Will definitely pick up a few sticks en route.

On airport duty-frees: the walk-in humidor at Bahrain Abhu Dhabi aiport was very well stocked - apart from Bolivar for some reason; I picked up a box of Partagas SD4 and Maduro #1, and Cohiba Robusto and Siglo IV (there were two of us travelling).

Anyway, linked to this... I posted in September about my new found love for the Partagas SD4 - a fantastic cigar, and for me, a real finger burner - I have since smoked many singles from a variety of sources and bought a box at Palma airport, and all were very similar and real pleasure to smoke. The box I bought in Bahrain Abhu Dhabi duty free? Not so! An uneven burn, but more importantly the flavour was not there - a hint of it has been present in only one so far. The box had an early 2017 date on it (as did the others I purchased in Bahrain Abhu Dhabi) so maybe this is the reason... although I would have thought that at least some of the many singles I jhave smoked must have been 'fresher' so as to provide a appropriate comparison (the Palma box was Sept 2013 so that had some ageing to it). I'm hoping the other boxes I bought there live up to my expectations or I'll be quite disappointed!

Sounds like you just need to get some age on the 2017 box. Stick it at the back of the humidor and revisit it in a few years time, you’ll be amazed at the change.

I wish I had the patience and money to do that! I have never managed to age any of my cigars. I smoke them and they do another order.......

Right on both counts guys, although the new sd4s also have tighter and inconsistent draws too, and Paul, I hear you, but duty free are half UK prices so hard to resist!

My last PSD4 3 pack didn't live up to my previous experiences also. Those were from Dubai dutyfree last year and I spent a good 45 mins examining each pack.

Hopeful of finding some stellar sticks in Doha now but even mediocre smokes will likely taste grand after 4 weeks straight of work.
