I love them but not paying £190 for them.
A few years back i'd never have dreamed of paying £100+ for trainers. The price Nike charge is pretty extortionate and it's concerning how fast their prices have increased.

I checked my account from about 3 years ago and paid £125 for some Jordan 1 highs. A year ago I paid £155 and now they're about £165 - £180.

If anything, the quality of the product has become worse over time.
£300+ on eBay for these now. Just utterly vile. Can’t imagine exploiting people for money like that.

Which ones?

I've got my lost and founds sitting in a box currently and they're going for close to £400. I'm sure in a year or two they'll be around the £1k mark.

I put my entry in on Nike this morning for the 3s then went back to sleep. Didn't realise that some of the online stores were going to have stock outside of a raffle!

When I got up an hour later I had my loss from Nike and all the stores sold out. My last raffle is End. and doubt I'll win there. I may go check a shop in the week out of curiosity but doubt they'll have.

I know it's meant to be an iconic shoe but I like a splash more colour. The Wizards release looks interesting, maybe even the green ones. Personally am not sure I'm sold on the 3 silhouette but would at least like to try.

I'm surprised that they raffled this shoe. There's nothing particularly special about it to look at. It's just another example of the marketing hype and nonsense that, unfortunately, has engulfed the retro Jordan market. I'd rather have the fire red 3s that were widely released towards the end of last year. I ended up buying the winterised archaeo brown 3s and I'm very pleased to have them in rotation with a few other J3s.

I remember the Fire red sat for a long time and it honestly looks nicer.

It's the storytelling behind the white cement + the sneakertubers have been hyping it up for months which made people want it.

I'll probably hold out for something with a splash more colour. 3s look a bit like clunky bricks and i'm not 100% they would be for me..

Can't believe the prices trainers are going for these days. I paid £40 a year ago for some Reebok gym shoes and found they didn't fit, so they got chucked in the cupboard. I sold them last week on eBay for £120 to someone in the US. Madness.

How do people justify the cost? Within 6 months my trainers start looking old and dirty. Yet when I'm out and about it seems that everyone has new and clean shoes. Do people genuinely clean their shoes? Am I the only one who doesn't?

Some people do wipe their shoes after every use. The weird ones even clean the bottoms. The sprays can help repel the water / stains too (at least they market it that way).

It also depends how many pairs of shoes you have. If you wear them in rotation then they don't get worn a great deal and still look in good condition.

What a weird post…especially in this thread! Yeah, I agree, the cost of trainers is getting a tad uncomfortable, but as with anything popular or of interest, people are willing to pay. And, if you haven’t noticed, the price of everything is going up!

It doesn’t take much to keep your kicks looking clean. I got a few pairs I’ll wear if I know the weather is going to be really horrible, like the last few days. But other than that I just rotate and make sure I don’t step in st! Christ knows what you do to yours?! smile

If you like the shoes then get them.

Only dumb kids worry about 'fit'. You can wear blue jeans, black jeans, cargo pants, shorts, joggers and whatever else you fancy.

Usual criteria for a t-shirt is that it looks fairly clean.

I used to have that mindset and thought process but after many pairs of bright nikes I wear them with pretty much anything bar office wear. They look awesome so if you like them buy them smile

Bigger trainers and boots I wear with a pair of Edwin Ed-39 as they’re baggy enough to fit over them.

I wear all trainers with a plain colour matched Gildan Ultra T-shirt.. for these it’d be royal blue.

I'm the opposite. From my perspective, what's the point in wearing high tops to then hide the detail under jeans?

I mean, each to their own, and it's all good smile

I don't think he's the greatest thing since sliced bread and wouldn't buy his fart in a jar (unlike some).

But I can appreciate he is one of (arguably the #1) the greatest players to play the game. I was born in the 80s so missed some of his time on the court and didn't grow up with Sky TV. But I knew about the Chicago bulls at the time and the things which pippen, rodman and Jordan were achieving.

Personally, I don't care enough whether the pair of shoes I wear on my feet is the exact same as when Jordan played game 3 of the playoffs or dunked from the free throw line etc.

Obviously you're happy with them but what are they like for fit, quality and weight?

Always bought plain/not as graphic branded t shirts for more average days and under hoodies to keep my graphics fresher for longer and these would save me a lot of pennies yes

ETA: I tried a couple ages ago, iirc hanes and fruit of the loom but they were absolutely rubbish.
