I used to send messages off like I was dying that day. Used to get a few replies back, fked up a couple of times and got things wrong, but worst was when I was dating two/three last year (if my GF is reading...way before I met you!).

One off POF, one off Tinder and one of Twitter of all places.

It was a nightmare. The twitter one knew I was dating others (she was already in a relationship, so couldn't really judge!). But the other two didn't know about the others. Had to be careful with social media, and didn't add two of them on the same thing.

I fked up a couple of times and called one the wrong name on the phone, got another one confused with their jobs.

One didn't take it well when I said it wasn't working out and the Twitter one got a bit funny with me (which is another story), but worked out in the end (well didn't as broke up a month after officially getting together...she was a nutter, well her daughter was!).

TLDR...I was st at it.
This is where you need a spreadsheet hehe in my mind if you are two or three dates in then it is not too bad. If you are more than that, then I suppose it could become more difficult.

I was entirely candid about seeing other people at the same time. If I was a younger man I would never have been so brazen but I was shocked at the effect in that on the whole it made them keener and more vying for attention almost. Within the world of dating apps/sites I think its pretty much standard and almost a bit weird if you focus on 1 person alone.

But on the flip side, I told one girl I was messaging (good dirty messages as well) that I was messaging others and I was blocked quicker than you can say swipe left!

Take a good long hard look at yourself if you use a spreadsheet in regards to anything involving dating

I always chat to multiple girls for sure to organise dates, and i've dated several girls out over the course of a few weeks, while still chatting to the others. I took two girls to the same pub one night, and another the next, much to the amusement of the barman.

After a few dates, I've always been able to work out which girl I click with most, and then go for it, whilst telling the others (politely) that it's not going to work.

I wouldn't keep dating others once I'd decided I liked a girl and was going to make the effort. It's pretty dishonest and would play on my mind if things ever got serious.

What they have cleverly done is suckered you into a discounted trial and now have £19.99 of your hard earned hehe
I hope you're enjoying your little bit of schadenfreude but I must pee on your chips now.

In my mail to Match.com, I said that if I could take six months at £19.99 per month then
cancel the subscription before the auto-renewal for month two I'd gladly subscribe.

They complied, I did what I suggested, job done, no-one suckered.

BTW, you have egg on your face smile
It's not egg wink
Snort hehe

Net dating is pretty much the equivalent of going into Ikea, full of the joys of spring and determined to make a purchase.

You look around the nice shiny new items, all of which would be more than suitable for your new home, and are within your price range, but each time you enquire that item is currently out of stock or no longer available.

Eventually after a long old trudge around you are directed to the store returns and damaged good section, just before the tills.

Its full to the brim, so you take a poke around, hoping to find that illusive bargain that has been stored there by mistake, but in the end you resign yourself to either taking home the cupboard with the missing handle, or the chair with a wonky leg, or simply decide that empty space in the corner of the living room can stay like it is for now, and less things to have to dust as a result anyway :-)

Cynic that I am, that seems to be the general experience of most people I know who have given it a try inc myself.

True, which is why a few months later that is all you recall of the experience, and head back for another!

If you like them with the gravy then maybe Grindr is well worth a visit instead...

Both POF and Match seem hard this month not a lot of interaction. Either I need a refresh or my skills are withering

Everything seems to be quiet this month. Down on retail footfall and website usage too. I suspect folk are away on holiday

This is what I’ve thought until today where I’ve had 4 replies and I’ve been talking through out the evening so I’ll see how it goes.

Just out of interest, what is the reply rate like? Are you looking at having to send 30/40/50 messages to get just one reply?
