Further to my post above, has anyone taken an imprint of a pet's paw for a tattoo?

If so, how did you do it?

You can get kits where you wet a baby's hand with a liquid and press it onto what looks like photographic paper, which then turns the area of transfer a darker grey colour. Might be an option?

I’d find a few artists who’ve done similar and speak to them on the best option for the result you want. There are pet orientated ink pad kits available. Not something I’ve done so be wary to check the ingredients. Closest I’ve come is when my cats walked through wet paint and trod it all around the house rolleyes

I used one of the kits on Brodie whilst he was sedated
My plan was to get the print drawn up for my calf
It came out very smeared and not as clear as would have hoped so that idea is binned

Ha glad I’m not the only one. One of ours fell in a tub of paint and left a trail of Dulux Warm Truffle all over the flat laugh

What a coincidence! One of our kittens fell in a bucket of old engine oil out of the tractor. That one drowned, but I share your pain of the remarkable mess it caused.

Mine was gold furniture paint. I wish I’d put them on my black painted stairs. Would’ve looked quite effective don’t you think hehe

Feline interior design.

Better than the usual barf stains and randomly scratched stuff.

This seems like the best thread for this question. Has anyone ever had an existing, healed tattoo become raised and itchy for a short period?

I had my latest in June last year. Today I noticed my arm itching, like an insect bite kind of itch, and when I washed my arm I noticed a large section of the tattoo was raised.

After a few hours it has nearly returned to normal.

Yeah, I get this with dark red ink. It's known for triggering mild reactions in people and my tattoos will still get irritated occasionally even though some of them are 20 odd years old now.

Interesting, thanks. This one is all black. I have a black and red tattoo on my chest that has been fine for a few years and a crap black one on my arm that has never been an issue in 20 years or so.

This is the one that raised up but it's back smooth now. Very strange.

I'm intrigued!

What's the story behind that?

The idea behind this was the 4 elements connected by geometry. A geeky nod to how mathematics runs through nature. I asked the artist to incorporate the symbols with the Fibonacci spiral/golden ratio and this is what he came up with.

Better pic from when it was done:

I get it sometimes in the thick black lines of my tattoo, normally when I'm hot. It freaked me out the first time but a google said it was kinda common so I don't notice it anymore.
