in F1 etc, in Pit Lane, each team is assigned a marked-out Pit BOX where they can take their Pit Stops, separate from the pit garage etc

seems most languages just use Box to refer to these mid-race stops

In a similar vein, why are engines referred to as 'power units'?

One would think that high seating position, lots of power, lots of room, plenty of range, comfortable, handles well.

So a RAnge Rover or Cayenne would probably tick the box. However, probably would need to be diesel for the range.

There are a any number of diseases, and over a hundred kinds of cancer, that the human body isn't so brilliant at dealing with.

NHS, Police, Fire brigade. When you see their jobs advertised they are quoted (for instance) for a 37.5 hour week. If they work more than this, and you often hear of them claiming 60 hours+ is the norm, do they get paid overtime and at what rate?

They all receive over-time, but I don't know at what rate.
I would imagine it's half decent.

Shifts may average at 37 hours a week, but within that one week may have 60 hours of work in it, but the following week might only have 20 hours of work in it.

OT rate depends on the circs, amount of notice given, day of week/time etc. Anything from plain time to triple time
