I think a few of us have the earlier version of these. I used mine on a flight last year and the noise cancelling worked quite well. They’ve not been used since I switched to an iPhone X and bluetooth headphones. I’m in.

Oooooo what’s it like ... I could be so tempted to trade out my X for one!
It's very good. The last non iOS phone I had was the S8 plus which I only had for 2 months before going back to iOS. I compared a 4k video on the note 9 with the iPhone and even my wife noted how much better the screen was so it must be noticeable.
I also had the Gear S4 on pre order as I will miss my apple watch.
I would have gone for the 512 but in reality I don't need the space.
Having seen a few comparisons to the X, the camera is better on the note in most circumstances.
The size is virtually the same as the 7 plus so no problem there.
I have just treated myself to a Huawei M5 10.8 as I spend a lot of time commuting and sofar very very impressed.
I've read a review of an early release where it said the battery life was poor and browsing could be slow even on WiFi.
It's brilliant, screen is nice, built in speakers pretty good too.

FAO headphone nerds. Any suggestions for in ear bluetooth headphones with noice cancellation? The Leophile zeros are still oos on Amazon
I'm still really liking my Sony Wf-1000x. Admittedly, FlyMaybe effectively paid for them after cancelling a flight out of Schiphol.
I've tried changing to priority to stable connection which is better but still not great. I've also updated the firmware which I think may have dropped the sound quality a little and made it a little more stable but not much. It's worse in noise cancelling more. which is a shame as it was quite nice in the car as I could here the music over the noisy exhaust.
Edit to add I'm contemplating returning them but not sure if I've got a pair that are especially bad or this is par for the course. I'm coming from some RHA 750's which blow these out of the water for sound but I was hoping the wire free convenience and noise cancelling would be worth it.

Thanks for the replies. I did read the Amazon reviews but hoped that some of the issues may have been resolved in firmware. I think these can go back.
Am I missing something or are the Bose QC35s not big over the ear jobs? The in ear ones look not to be noise cancelling. Maybe I should stick with what I have or upgrade to the RHA wireless ones which also don't have ANC.

You are correct, QC35 are the wireless over-ear cans, they do have a mark 2 of these out, which includes some feature like Siri I believe, and as a result i saved my money and got the mark 1.Without Googling it, the in-ear versions are likely sold as 'noise isolating', which I reckon is made to be deliberately confusing, but basically it just blocks a load of noise out of the user's ears, instead of actively cancelling it.

Not used them for a call yet though.

Have you experienced issues with bluetooth connectivity on these? I picked some up at the weekend and I seem to get issues with transmitting to them. Also issues with people not able to here mo on skype calls. Not tried them hands free on the phone yet.

These problems are why they are so cheap now. I've tried changing to priority to stable connection which is better but still not great. I get on with mine but if I had the issues you describe they would be going back.
I use mine for calls often.
Cheers for the info on the Sony earphones. I've run them for an hour or so with no "enhancements" and ANC turned off. The did actually perform ok. Outdoors they don't seem to suffer too much interference so I can turn that all on. I think I'll give them another day to see if im happy with them. I couldn't justify over double the price for the Bose QC30 especially as they have the neck band. Maybe this technology just isn't there yet at a regular consumer price point perhaps in another year they'll be better.
For the price of those Sony ones i'm very surprised they have connectivity issues! These days this should not be an issue with Bluetooth devices, even cheap things I have tried before have worked well.
Maybe you could try the Taotronic ones, I have the wired ones with ANC and have been very impressed with them, I got them for about 30 euros and use them almost every day in the office. The ANC charges in around 2 hours and lasts 15 hours according to Taotronics, I've never timed it but they do seem to last a long time.
I was just checking on amazon.de and found these which seem to be a Bluetooth version of the ones I have, the earbuds look very similar, but I couldn't find them on the UK amazon site for some reason, i'm tempted to buy some to try when riding my motorbike or in my car when the roof is down:
https://www.amazon.de/TaoTronics-Cancelling-Nacken...
I found them on the American site, so at least you can read some reviews in English, they seem to get decent feedback from there anyway, if they are anything like the wired ones I have then i would be impressed with them for the price. 16 hours playback with ANC off and 8 hours with it on apparently.
