Thank god for that, we are staying in a cottage in Cornwall, and I really didnt fancy a 350 mile drive in the snow
With the winds more from the NE than the E - it would take quite something to get the snow down in the SW.

Big downgrades in terms of snow today. Maybe Scotland...

Yep, but low pressure is a problem. Typical Easter rubbish.

Best in the south, chance of mid teens down here (I'll be in Yorkshire though).

Hill snow for people like RicksAlfas

Easter weekend remains impossible to forecast accurately.

However, we know it will be cool/cold - further north, lower temperatures. We know it will be unsettled. Basically rubbish.

Anyway, I'm off to open up the summer thread.........

Heavy rain with snow mixed in it earlier here in Hindhead, very odd.
That's the surprise snow I mentioned - back end of the low pressure, as it drags cold air in from the north, behind it.

Was only ever going to be a wet mix, unless up high.

Bit chilly out on the bicycle this evening in South Lincs.

Weird weather consisting of wind and rain, then calm, then wind and rain, then calm, etc.

Gritters have been out in the last few hours.

The bad news - next week could be utterly cold, wet and miserable.

The good news - signs persist for high pressure in the second week of April.

I’m sure you’ll be fine if you stay low down. Use M62 Junction 25 at Brighouse rather than venturing up to Ainley Top at 24.

Is it over then?

Can we come out now?
There's various upcoming forecasts swinging from 20 next weekend to snow in the following week. A real dogs dinner at the moment.

Can't get out of our friends' road in Huddersfield, steep hill at each end.

Raining now, so shouldn't be long!

The heavy rain melting heavy snow in Huddersfield created abysmal road conditions. Apologies for the wet sod I splashed redface
