Hopeful signs of a cooler, drier period starting just before Xmas. Also hopeful signs of some high pressure building near the UK towards New Year.

Meanwhile - wet and windy...

Hope you are enjoying it. Let me know if you need any tourist information! biggrin
Thanks appreciate it - we're not far from the Shiden Valley, just need proper time to explore (we went right at the water works uphill, left towards the waterfall and downhill will be the next trek).

As long as you find the Inn you'll be OK.
biggrin

Pissing it down, again. I dont normally mind the rain but fking hell, I cannot remember more than a day going past in the last few months where it hasn't rained.

Dry and cold here. Not been above 3c all day. In fact it's quite pleasant, but chilly. Christmas looks reasonably cold.

I've been around the South Reading, Wokingham and River Loddon area today. Although nowhere near as bad as up North a week or two ago, many fields are lakes and I don't think it would take much for some flooding.

Downstream a little on the main Thames, Marlow and Hurley are on alert for flooding.

Downstream where I am in Maidenhead, we will be fine as we are protected by the Jubilee flood defence river. This either holds water back and Marlow, Hurley and Cookham / Bourne End flood or if they let the water go Old Windsor, Wraysbury flood. Not really that clever as the flood plains adjacent to Maidenhead were the first to naturally flood, now flooding happens where it didn't before.

It's a bit brisk up here in the mountains this morning - -8f (-22c). However, that is positively tropical in comparison to what the temperature is like to the south of me in Park County - -44f (-42c).
