It's calming for travellers and provides a easier security control

Inspired by the sunbathing thread...

Do people of colour have the same obsession with sunbathing as white folk?

Infact to black/brown people go darker in colour after sunbathing?

Also if white people have too much sun they tend to go bright red...what happens to black/brown skin people?

The darker the skin, the more resilient you are to the sun, however black people can burn too.

The skin does go redder when burnt, however is hidden by the tone of the skin colour so more noticeable on lighter tones.

If it's a tall crane, they just stack the spirit levels

Why do towels, after a reasonable period of use, invariablly end up with one side soft and one side scratchy?

If it's a tall crane, they just stack the spirit levels
Or if you've got that many spirit levels, you can just use them and cancel the crane.

If one's a bit out, just turn it round and take an average.
Or a bit of tape on one end

In answer to the original crane level question:
Put one of these on top of the crane

They do it if you let them dry naturally but don't if you put them through a tumble dryer.

When & why did the Dutch develop such laid-back attitudes?

And how did they combine these with such winning mercantile behaviour?

It's a natural contrarian reaction to living next to the Germans?
