I've enjoyed this thread for some light hearted relief, even contiuted to it myself before.
However, the 'Event safety marshalls' guy would appear to have some mental health issues. The continuing mockery of him on here is starting to come across as a bordeline witchhunt / public shaming.
What he is doing is a bit odd but publicly mocking people with obvious mental health issues isn't cool. He is a (probably)just a harmless fantasist. A mention on the thread? fine, but singling out for continued mockery, i don't believe thats right.
Lets face it, its not like there are a shortage of walts to look in disbelief at ....thats my2p anyway.

Can you imagine him administering first aid? He probably has no formal training or very basic first aid, some old dear looking at all that reflective stuff and high viz would easily mistake him for a genuine paramedic or doctor. He could easily make a lethal mistake.

A more stupid idea it's hard to imagine. Your kid is in the water in trouble and you waste valuable seconds trying to get help from some prick in a fake lifeguard jacket. Mr. Minion is akin to that..

I don't disagree that people like that have genuine potential to be dangerous to themselves and others without realising it (but only if they do what thy tell people they do) I rather suspect relevnt authorites are probably aware of him though.
Either way it doesnt make public mocking/shaming of the mentally ill ok. It's the internet equivalent of laughing and pointing whilst shouting " look at the crazy man".

The thread self moderates. It's never got out of hand. From Chemical Chaos at the start, to this guy now, no-one has ever been excessively nasty or vindictive.
This is just yet another case of the few thinking their opinion is more important than that of the many.
