Car adverts that show LHD cars. Especially cars whose country of origin is RHD, like Honda, Mazda, Toyota, and Mitsubishi.

Worse are the ones that go on about the features and then put a caption "UK Specification may vary".

I realise that making adverts is expensive, but it still annoys me.
And UK Car configurator website that shows left hand drive interiors, Mercedes, BMW, Audi etc, even Jaguar do it.

Over-flowery renditions of a National Anthem by a vocalist.

In this case, the Canadian F1 GP.

Idiot fking highways engineers who insist on Highway Code-busting road markings which do nothing but increase road rage incidents because they offer a 'green light' to arrogant drivers.

They need to have their fking faces dragged along the tarmac until they mark junctions properly.
Missed this earlier...

V8, mate, what's up? Where you talking about? I may know about it. Or be responsible for it rofl

This is "beyond reason" because in my heart I know I'm almost certainly wrong, but it's the phrases mix tapes and box sets. Surely it should be mixed tape and boxed set? Am I mad? Does my head in whenever I hear/read it but someone will now say it's grammatically correct.

I confess I have never really given it much thought. But my interpretation is that a mix tape is a tape that contains a mix, and a box set is a set that is in a box. I can see that 'boxed set' would be more grammatically correct, though. However, with 'mixed tape', it's not a tape that is mixed. It is a tape that contains a mix, with a mix being a thing.

Just my interpretation of the phrases. Normal disclaimers apply with regards to you being entitled to be annoyed, although you did ask for opinions. smile

You see, I thought the word mix stood for "mixed music", i.e. a mixture of different styles and genres. Shows what I know.......

PS Thanks for you input.

Getting promotional e-mails from ebay etc. for Father's Day

My Dad's been dead for 10 years now
I got fed up with some of the stuff and switched off the alerts a couple of years ago. I recently separated my buying account from my selling one and didn't disable the alerts. they really truly are full of the most patronising drivel

I get annoyed with eBay after you have stopped watching something it STILL recommends others of that type.

Starting to have random drug tests at work because 3 tits had a spliff in the car park.

Oh and it was hilarious when everyone laughed at the announcement at my ability to give a hair sample as I look like Duncun Goodhew.

I got a large selection urging me to do reviews of items purchased. I gave in and decided to share my delight at buying some everyday items such as trunking corners and packets of washers. Its fair to say that these reviews rather embellished the joys of owning such items

Oh yes - and when you've searched for a particular item, it insists on sending you links to items it thinks are 'similar' - if I wanted a 1/600 scale model Elizabethan galleon I wouldn't have searched for a 1/48 Lunar Module kit, would I ? frown

This dumb AI really grinds my gears, it's the same sloppy algorithm that keeps recommending me hotels in a place I went to once for a one off event.

Indeed. And in a similar vein... when you make a witty allusion to something in a reply to a post, to which most people will chuckle and think "very clever. I see what you did there", and then riff back in a similar fashion, and everyone has a further chuckle, and then Captain Obvious then has to come along and explicitly say what it is and ruin it.

Another common one I see frequently - someone posts a picture of an aircraft, there follows several pages of discussion about said aircraft, then up pops some numptie who simply states 'name of aircraft' as if no-one knew what it was. It is funny though when they get it wrong, despite it being correctly named in the original post and subsequent discussion biggrin

Yes, that too. yes

In fact, it illustrates my point perfectly.

The multi-storey car park at Birmingham Airport.

Who the hell signed off on that design?

It need an "up" ramp and a "down ramp" at opposite ends and floors in the middle with rows of spaces.

instead, it has an up/down ramp in the middle, but you have to drive around the level to get to the next up/down again. Also, the rows are inconsistent sizes and in some unfathomable pattern making it nearly impossible to get back to the middle where the ramp is again.

Talking about car parks. Our local one has spend thousands 'improving' the carpark by putting a stupid hump in the middle of the narrow entrance that could cause damage on low cars. Oddly they have not filled in the holes where the front tyres have sunk into the tarmac.
