Tell Us Something Really Trivial About Your Life Volume 37

Morning all
Fortunately, we've not experienced any of this "fuel shortage" business? I filled my old jalopy up yesterday, no drama at all.
Mind, there are still plenty of places around here with no running water or mains electricity so maybe things just take a while to filter through to these parts. We'll see what happens.
Anyhow, for a few days this week I'll be tooling around in a Toyota 4X4 thing. Now, the issue with this is the indicator stalk is on the opposite side of the steering column to what I'm accustomed to, hence my signalling may be somewhat sporadic.
So, if anyone happens to be in the Norfolk area and chances upon a black Toyota pick up thing whose driver's intentions are not particularly clear, all I ask is please watch my windscreen wipers.
A single steady sweep means I'm turning left, a number of rapid sweeps means I'm turning right.

That's marvellous, ApO, your lot are certainly doing your bit to combat global warming. No CO2, no CO2 emissions!
A good mooring from me.
Elbow test - negatory
Pregnancy test - C
I am not pregnant.
I can't have babies anyway, my insides are all wrong. Just like Tubbs.
Courgette & lemon cake, Magoo?
How about beetroot & raspberry cake?
Or cabbage & ginger muffins?

Excellent, the only problem I can foresee is with people following you not being able to see your wipers properly!!Fortunately, we've not experienced any of this "fuel shortage" business? I filled my old jalopy up yesterday, no drama at all.

at the indicator/wiper anomaly confusion. Fortunately, we've not experienced any of this "fuel shortage" business? I filled my old jalopy up yesterday, no drama at all.

Why the Hi-Lux, Bomma, are you chugging around the Broads with a dirty great outboard fixed to the tailgate, or have you mounted a machine gun to the cab roof and a dishdash to your bonce?
Have you "borrowed" it from the Norfolk Popular Peoples' Front, or have you bought it to tug your Shetland Wotsit?
The Hi-Lux has been loaned to me for a few days old boy so I can retrieve the "Good Ship Venus" from its present location. It'll have a nice new home near that there Potter Heigham, and hopefully many happy days chugging around the Broads.
I have to say the truck's a very capable old thing. Surprisingly agile for an oil burning mud plugger

Lunch has been had, as has my phone call with Occupational health, apparently I'll be on a phased return with a risk assessment as to how I'm coping with my duties, I've been told I can use a shield instead of a mask whilst on site too, now just need to await a call from both HR and my manager to tell me shift patterns and duties!!

We've just been to Whitely for a walk, every petrol station we past was queued up down the road!!!
Most round here are closed and barricaded. Apparently the big Sainsbury's one near me had a delivery yesterday morning, and was sold out by mid afternoon.Madness.
Morrisons at Dukinfield have petrol but no diesel.
Morrisons at Bredbury sold out
Tesco at Hattersley closed and barricaded.
Esso at Great Moor sold out.
BP on Marple Road said to be sold out.
I blame David Cameron for all this chaos.
How are your stocks of toilet rolls and pasta?
Bomma has the best survival plan.
No stockpiling, just a Remy, loads of ammo and an old battleship.

Don't park facing downhill Bomma as they have a tendency to drain oil into some part of the engine it shouldn't go. So on start up the row it makes for 2 or 3 seconds is a bit similar to Stuntman Mikes mrs on a frosty morning in slumber!I have to say the truck's a very capable old thing. Good old trucks though,I love ours although it's non 4x4 it pulls my digger and trailer about ok even though it's on about 185,000 miles now.
Ships ahoy and all that!
Will we be calling you Captain Bomma now?
An interesting point you make there about parking downhill Magoo old chap, I wasn't aware of that. Every day's a school day
Not that there's much at all in the way of hills around here of course, something to be aware of if you're buggering about on slipways and jetty ramps though I suppose.
Captain Bomma? I think I've got a fair old haul before I make Captain. I'm not sure I'd even make Able Seaman at the moment.
"Able Seaman? Futtin old spunker, more like. You futtin old goat"

Afternoon/morning all!
Shertlands are fine boats and are well suited to launching and recovering crab pots or other fishy adventures, or not, as dictated by the crew, and will make landfall quite easily at a large selection of hostelries along that there Nofolk Broads or wherever the Capt desires!
Salty adventures are quite the rage at the moment, it would appear, and there are many who would set sail (in its loosest sense) from foreign shores, in the cover of darkness, to go forth and fish for new beginnings'ess with little more than the skin of their teef! And who could blame 'em?
For now, I shall refrain from further detail of my latest excaped/extraspade/escapade...
Good evening.

Ah, the mighty towering peaks of the Norfolk Uplands!
From the summit of the swede clamp, you can see almost everything.
Don't look Ethel!
Salthouse Heath has fine long reaching veiw's! Though on New Year's Eve of 1971 all I could see was 6 inches of snow everywhere and the same was on top of my tent. That old Duke of Edinburgh has a lot to answer for I tell thee. From the summit of the swede clamp, you can see almost everything.

Of course too late now. It was cold, very cold but unsurprisingly not as cold as the North Sea the next morning!
Mental we were! The lot of us!
Biscuit, definitely a biscuit, soft baked like a cake but clearly not a cake, no way, not never, however shortbread is definitely not bread although could be a cake like oatcake but less so, however they are found in the biscuit section not cake nor bread, so could be classified as a biscuit? Whereas, flapjacks are definitely cake-like so one can be safe to assume they aren't biscuits or bread, or are they like Jaffa cakes and therefore must be biscuits???
