I just bought a cheap Chinese Xiomaie (no clue how to spell it let alone pronounce it) from Amazon at the weekend. A massive £27 investment but I had a £5 voucher to use up. I'm actually stunned at what it can do for the price and the 7 day battery life, if it lives up to that claim, isn't too much of a problem.

Some random person in China now knows just how lazy and fat I am and when I'm having a heart attack. Awesome.

The problem I have with Smart watches is that it restricts you to wearing one watch.

What do I do with the other 12 I frivolously bought?
The first world problems thread is this way... ---------->
I wear a regular watch on m my left and my Apple Watch on my right, it’s not an uncommon thing to do

You mentioned it drove from the port? What was the situation with import duty and vat, presumably vehicle released following a declaration and promise to pay? Also was it driven away on US plates and was there any problem with that? If your primary residence is the UK it is illegal to drive a foreign registered vehicle here.
Not this again!

You CAN drive a foreign-registered vehicle in the UK if you are a UK resident. They relaxed the rules a few years ago, and that excerpt people keep quoting no longer appears on any .GOV site.

You can customize it alot.

However don't get the Watch from Vitality, I looked into it, for the what they are offering, it didn't seam worthwhile. Also I think the watch offer ended yesterday. Also to get the discounts, we aren't talking about walking the dog once a day and popping to the gym a couple of times a week...
I know the offer ended yesterday, but another one is always just around the corner.

My other half has one through Vitality that seemed good value. I wasn't sure how it would work if you only wore it for an hour a day. I assume it isn't a big enough sample size for the heart rate etc for them to see how much you're actually using it.

If it's an all or nothing thing, it isn't happening.

What I'd really like is a fit-bit style watch thing, but with a GPS so I can record my runs for Strava without needing to take my phone.

I'd use it as my daily watch, and get notifications and such like. Maybe even do short replies to texts, but not a lot more.

I was looking at the War-Wee Band 3 Pro, but wondered if there were any other options under £50...

Its a tiered points system, I think you need to be onto 12,000 steps a day plus calorie (move), exercise and standing to make it to a tier worth having, so while you wouldn't need to wear it all day, an hour a day is unlikely to cut it. As a device it is designed to be used alot more obviously smile

They are still offering it today, I know first hand, have just placed an order.

I usually do about 10,000 steps a day according to my phone, so hoping it wont cost me much more than the initial price, always wanted one, so thought why not.

Galaxy Watch Update -

Despite not getting on with it, and considering selling...

And you’ll find yourself wrong

Lots and lots of people do it all over the world, you just don’t notice as it’s not a particularly standout noticeable thing

For those smart watch aficionado's the really frivolous and best solution is the very manly Garmin Fenix 5 https://www.blacks.co.uk/equipment/289806-garmin-f...

However, smart watches are soooo last year. What you really need is a completely holistic approach to well being with an Oura Ring which I'm currently waiting to arrive. https://ouraring.com/

I had an Apple Watch (series 0) but it didn’t have ECG facility so while in the US recently I thought I might as well get a new one, as everyone needs to carry out regular ECGs right?

Something a bit different to smart watches, I have 8 or 9 Fenn traps plus a couple of live cage traps so don't need another, but I fancied trying the DOC150 trap out, 4 times the price of one Fenn.

When it came I built a box for it, baited and set up, less than a week in and I had my first catch. £38 and worth every penny.

Sounds like you've got too much time on your hands.
