Things that annoy you beyond reason...? [Vol 3]
Discussion
On my telly now is Chart Show TV and they have just played a song I have never heard of by a young lady I have never heard of called Melissa Steel. The vocals and drums in this kind of music annoy me beyond reason. The vocals sound like they have been pumped into an electronic machine then sprinkled with sugar while the drums sound like they were skinned with crisp packets then fed into another electronic machine.

People. Just people.
At the beach for a couple of hours with the missus. We climb up into the dunes to find somewhere peaceful to sit and soak up some rays. Find somewhere nice and pitch camp. We were there an hour or so when a large family of middle class, middle aged people arrive with their multi-national brood of children and decide to set down right next to us in a small patch of sand amongst the grass. Kids then start digging holes and flinging sand around - peace destroyed.
We move away to find a new spot, but no sooner had I found one some people appear from behind the grass and set down right where I was pointing to. So we carry on and find another spot, this one even more secluded, brilliant. Within ten minutes a family of loud, Eastern European-sounding people arrive and also decide they like this secluded, small area and set down a few meters from us.
By now I'd had enough and opt to walk back to the car and have ice creams.
I know everyone has the right to be where they want on the beach, but the one weekend-day I have off this month I wanted to be a happy time that was just right, instead it was spoiled by people who were just desperate to be where I was, wherever I went.

The vocals sound like that because, almost certainly, that is exactly what has happened. I could get mad about the fact that loads of these no talent aholes are making a living for doing next to nothing whilst I have to actually go out and earn a living, but I'm sat at work and posting on Pistonheads I'm a no talent ahole and I want money too, God damnit!
I've sold quite a few items on that 'well-known internet auction site', and have noticed that several buyers omit a (presumably) less-than-desirable 'post town' in their address. A (fictitious) example :
Wisteria Cottage
Matching Green
Essex
CM17 xxx
when the full, correct postal address should be:
Wisteria Cottage
Matching Green
HARLOW
CM17 xxx
Irritates more than it should

Reminds me of the late 80s-mid 90s when all the charts were ruined by the Stock, Aitken and Waterman *hit factory.

Professional cycling. It used to be that the various leaders in a race wore a certain shirt: yellow, green, polka dot etc, yet nowadays they seem to go the whole hog with not only a yellow shirt but yellow shades, yellow helmet, yellow bike etc. Looks stupid and it annoys me seeing it.
Less annoying, but still annoying nonetheless, is national champions' jerseys. So what, wear some sort of designation on the arms as previous world champions do, but different shirts to the rest of your team looks stupid and it annoys me seeing it.

The absolute travesty that was the American-style rendition of the British National Anthem that has just occurred at the British F1 Grand Prix.
Thank god it wasn't just me. That was toe curling. Especially when the HM's Band of the Royal Marines were immediately behind the daft bint and they could have done it justice.CC07 PEU said:
The apparent growth in the trend for people not liking spicy food. Maybe it's just me but I keep meeting people who say "I don't like spicy food blah blah blah..." Yeah, I'd much rather eat something bland... GTF!
I hate spicy food, all my life it has made me cough and heave. I could no more eat an Indian meal than I could flap my arms and fly over to the local Chinese restaurant.Should I force myself to eat it so you won't be offended?

Given the joy I have found over the last 40 years in spicy food, I genuinely pity you. Of course you don't annoy me, I really hope that you take the pleasure in what you do eat that I take in my diet, but it saddens me, slightly, that anyone should be shut out from the world of flavour that I have enjoyed.Should I force myself to eat it so you won't be offended?

I'm happy you have taken so much pleasure from your diet, good on you.
I tried a 2mm piece of Jalapeño a while back, I coughed, gagged and struggled to breath for a full 5 minutes, not for me!
