Grown adults who press the button and wait to cross the road, when it's only you and them alive within 2000 miles.
God yes. I understand the elderly and infirm and even those with children where pressing the button is educational, but adults who can't judge a gap really get on my tits.gowmonster said:
it is his birthday, a birthday is the anniversary of someone's birth, just because someone is dead doesn't mean their birthday isn't valid
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Birthday
For me personally, once someone dies the date becomes the anniversary of their birth rather than their birthday. It's a subtle distinction, I know. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Birthday
Yes, I do realise that they are one and the same. But I wouldn't refer to the date of a deceased person as their "birthday" I would say it was the anniversary of their birth, or on this day X years ago they were born.

T-shirts.
Specifically the fit of run of the mill, everyday t-shirts that don't have logos, patterns or anything etc.
I'm not an awkward or unusual body shape, not a body builder or a bean pole, so why can't people make a t-shirt that fits.
I've tried regular brands like Gap (who insist on putting pockets and logos on everything - pockets on fking t-shirts!), M&S, Next etc
Some are stupidly long and short sleeved. I have a few at the moment that the seam from the armpit to the cuff is too short. Fine if you have your arms down, but lift your arms for any reason and you're pulling the side seam upwards in a kind of wing effect. Also means there's under-arm bunching.
I did like uni-qlo but we don't have a store around here and they - along with many, many other manufacturers - tend to twist.
After a few wears / washes the side seams move around so the right seam may start under your armpit but finishes in front of your hip, left side moves around the back slightly.
I have several Rapha t-shirts and they fit* but I don't want to be buying and wearing Rapha t-shirts every single day.
Re the earlier posts on skinny jeans, I tried on some Rapha jeans a while ago. I'm no Chris Hot but I genuinely couldn't get them over my thighs!
So, badly fitted t-shirts annoy me beyond reason.

People who stand at zebra crossings and wait for the traffic to stop. Driving up the local high street this morning, Golf in front of me spots the woman approaching the crossing so slows to about 10 mph so she'd be across before he gets there. But no, she stood on the pavement waiting until he'd stopped before she walked across!
That makes complete and utter common sense. Any moving car, no matter how slow, is a potential car making a mess of your knees.Edited by nonsequitur on Tuesday 25th July 11:08
People on Facebook asking if they are the only person who hasn't seen Game of Thrones, followed by a dozen or so comments of other people who claim their badge of honour for not having watched it either, or asking if its about toilets etc.
It isn't something to be "Proud" to say you have never watched, its just, well, something you've never watched through choice of either not having access to the appropriate TV channel, or because it just isn't the kind of show you enjoy watching.

The poll doing the circuit re putting up the retirement age for women.......that has just been sprung upon them. Its got 600k ish sigs now.
And then theres the do da about women at the BBC being paid less than their male counterparts.
I am confused , is it equality only when it benefits one party or what?

If the job is the same, the pay should be the same. But no two TV or Radio presenters are the same, as the main core of their appeal is their individual personality / appearance / style.
If Jeremy Vine won't say a word for less than £700k, but Vanessa Feltz is happy with £300k, and the BBC is happy to reach each person's price then that's everyone's personal look-out.
