hehe

Seriously though - there is some indication of a change in weather mid-July. At this point it is one option from one model. Most models continue to point to extended high pressures and heat.

Generally speaking, more humidity, some thunder is certainly to be expected later this week and onwards. South will get the heat, humidity and thunder more than the north - of course.
Boooo! Boo I say.

We're dying of the heat up here. And everything is on fire.

I’ll save this post for when we get a mm of snow and all crash our cars in winter and get called Southern fairies. Pah northerners can’t handle a bit of warmth and the odd enormous moorland fire, wimps.

I'm just grumpy because I was woken up by the smell of smoke at 2:30 am. That's my excuse anyway. wink

You know that scene from Crocodile Dundee - "you call that a knife?..... I'll show you a knife!"

Well, all you lot need is some smug ex-pat living in Australia to come along and tell you that 28 degrees is perfect and anything less is "a bit chilly"

wink

Big fire in farmland (and industrial units) near Marlow last night. And now one in a field in Holyport (near Maidenhead).

Everyone needs to be ultra careful about the smallest things being able to start fires - too many idiots!

Yes, my Mrs got stuck on the A404 when they closed it yesterday. From what she described it was an OTT action.

Don't know about the Holyport one though.

Just got back from SW France. Bloody hell it was hot there with 37 being the hottest day. But I was more amazed at how dry it is here! Thought the lawn would need mowing and the like but it hasn't grown at all. Completely dry and yellow. As are the grass verges! Makes it feel properly summery. Our neighbours have Air Conditioning fitted in their master bedroom which makes me envious.

It'll probably be like that again in five months time. Need to make the most of the pesky sun. hehe

Low threat of showers and storms in the South continues today and tomorrow. Sweetspot is probably Dorset/Wilts, but SW, South Wales, anything south of Brum/west of Heathrow could see something.

Good luck to your garden.

Chance of extreme heat towards the end of next week - Spanish Plume style, so humid too.

We just had some rain too! Enough to fully wet the ground and mean I don't need to water the garden tonight either.

I was on the train home from the NW, watching the radar. Heavy downpour got to within 2 miles of home and then vanished cry

Further chances for same areas as yesterday, today. Best chance around East Hants and Sussex.
