I've had the piss ripped out of me recently by friends and family for my 'Council' Mondeo with no hubcaps. To solve a misfiring issue I changed the coilpack, using a YouTube video as a guide. Although well done and easy to follow, the video did make me start questioning my Council carriage. It ticks a lot of Council boxes; vest, big dog, rusty old Transit, but to give the guy his dues he's made a fair few videos and has 11k subscribers.

I used one of his guides to reattach the bumper on my Astra SRi Turbo!

Very helpful and I fixed my council car well

As soon as you go North of the Watford Gap services everyone starts eating Hovis, beating their Whippets and bathing in coal. That's just a scientific fact.

No, one first has to traverse the desolate wasteland of Lincolnshire, Leicestershire and the like.

Both of those counties are precisely council.

'Council'?

Are we just picking large swaths of the country now?
Most of those 2 counties are very rural

In defence of the opinion, Leicestershire has its county town, and Lincolnshire has Skegness. Both are so council they outweigh large amounts of greenery.

Actually it's when you pass Cullompton services on the M5 that you hit the Arctic Circle. David Attenborough told me that.

Are you seriously holding up Cullompton as a pinnacle of civilised society?

Haha no, they've yet to progress to eating mud and living in caves there, I merely highlighted it as the boundary between the north and south.

Oh it's terrible up here in the North (anywhere further down than Manchester is the South). We have nothing but bleak desolate wastelands inhabited by starving council bumpkins.

Best you lot stay down there and don't inflict yourselves on us the misery on yourselves.

The North is wherever you find peas, curry, gravy and cheese in chip shops.

To be Northern is to be aggrieved and disgusted whenever you're in a chippy anywhere that doesn't offer all the above.

Precisely. As a MIDLANDER, from Nottingham I get bored of explaining to Londoner friends that I live in the middle, not the north. To some of them anything north of Milton Keynes is 'oop north'.
