A violent swing to sub zero temperatures here would be ideal. It's the grey, rainy autumn that I detest.

New log burner went in yesterday, and I've got about five tonnes of split and seasoned wood stacked in the garden.

BRING IT ON!

I'm confident it'll all be fine this winter. I'm contemplating not getting it serviced at the moment...

Have planned a set of winters for the Octavia this year. I like the look of the Nokian Hakkapeliitta R in 205/55/16

Historical data suggest that an exceptionally warm summer precedes an exceptionally cold winter, so there may be some possibility.
'They' say we get a good Summer after a bad Winter too, if it weren't for it being wrong we would be in some kind of dire perpetual state.
Luckily it's all a load of bks eh? yesbiggrin
The only prediction 'they' ever get right is that it's dry before it rains.

I hate winter, the dark, the cold, the heating bills, the mud.

However, if it gets bad around here, my Yeti 4x4 should be up to the task.

Autumn has arrived. It is going to be GRIM up north on Sunday, and next week is likely to see frequent rain and windy spells.

woohoo Log fire time.

I love a bit of grimness. Haven't even needed a jacket yet to walk the dog in the mornings.
