There's one guy who also cycles to work who obviously thinks he doesn't need to shower. Believe me he does. The stench of decaying sweat on the gear he hangs up in the drying room is rank.
To be fair to him, that doesn't necessarily indicate that he doesn't shower. Sweat can build up over time - particularly on man-made fabrics - and modern washing powders/liquids are st at removing it. He could be showering and then dressing but still smelling like he hasn't showered once his body heat warms the garment up.If you want to help, try pinning a note to the offending garment suggesting that he puts a couple of tablespoons of white vinegar in the fabric conditioner slot of his washing machine next time he does a wash. This apparently (I'll confirm it or deny it after Ocado bring me my vinegar) solves the problem!

Morning & after work. I need to shower twice a day or i feel rotten. I'm office bound most of the time with the odd bit of dirty hands.
My scalp feels itchy & then my body starts to go the same way.
Cant shower before bed as i get really warm & then cant sleep. Missus says its like sleeping beside a hot water tank.
Unless you've got scabies or something, your scalp and body itching if you don't shower twice daily sounds really odd!My scalp feels itchy & then my body starts to go the same way.

I wonder if the itching is actually because you're drying your skin out through over showering?

When did all this 'cleanliness' start?
When I was a child we bathed once a week, on bath night. As a teen I started getting sweaty and smelly, as you do, so started showering more frequently. Then things like shower gel and fancy shampoos, hair conditioners for men, and other 'essentials' appeared.
These days I rarely exert myself so a shower when needed is appropriate - this may be twice daily or twice weekly. It depends. Furthermore; soaps, gels, shampoos, etc are very good at removing natural oils as well as sweat, dirt and grime - a more thorough scrub and fewer chemicals for more healthy skin?
Many of those above seem to confuse 'smelling fresh and healthy' with spray on chemicals, deodorants and perfumes.

Shower without fail every morning - could not start the day without a shower. However, I regularly shower 2/3 times a day. Cycle to work, then shower - swim at lunch, then shower - cycle home from work, then shower.
Reminds me of a sketch Harry Enfield done about a poncy breakfast presenter, who woke up showered had breakfast showered, got to work showered etc etc. Are you a particularly dirty person?LordGrover said:
