I'm looking for a Eufy Robovac 11c, a robot vacuum.

I got one a few months back on 'prime day' for £180, but amazon now want £260 for one, and my mother would quite like one so I'm gonna get her one for Christmas.

Not for £260 I'm not though!
That's the whole way Amazon works, they raise all the prices before a sale back to RRP, them when the sale starts and they reduce it to £180 they can claim your getting a massive £80 saving in the sale.

Whereas in reality most of the year they are on sale for 200-210*
Indeed. Always check camelcamelcamel. Set an alert for you preferred price and it will let you know when it hits it.

What a bloody brilliant website, thanks.

The Hive thermometer I got today (with installation and an Echo Dot) is the cheapest it's ever been at £148.99 so that's good to know smile

My telly went on the blink the other day, kept restarting when watching terrestrial TV, though fine watching Netflix, Amazon, iPlayer, etc. Guessed it was the tuner on the fritz. Decided to hold off until Black Friday to replace it - and miraculously it's working fine again now. smile
If Black Friday wasn't around the corner, I'd've popped into Richer Sounds and bought one immediately - so in a way Black Friday has 'saved' me a new TV.
If you haven't then try resetting to factory defaults and retuning it

To be fair, I recommend you get a new TV anyway. Just to be safe.

At Costco the 82” non-Qled is $2,500. Qled is $3,000.

So tempting! Wife trying to keep me out of the store as apparently we don’t have enough wall space for an 82...

Heard on the radio today that a lot of Black Friday deals last year could be had for same price or cheaper on any other day with a bit of research.

I thought the story was that many items were cheaper at other times. Including a week/month/6 months later. Which given tech in particular gets cheaper over time and as items are replaced with newer models, is fairly obvious.

The TV I bought hadn't been cheaper before black friday, but stayed at that price and went down after. To be expected.

Mixed views on the whole fiasco, last couple of years I have had genuine half price tickets for BTCC at Silverstone, on the other hand ECP sent me a Black Friday email, rear discs for my car which I am sure were less than £200 a few weeks back are now £919.99, clearly a case of pre black Friday price inflation.

Do you have a link for the cheap Hive? I'm not great with Amazon, and can only find Hive for £149.
Sorry for the delay. A tad cheaper now.

Many thanks. They sold out yesterday so was gutted for not ordering one straight away. However, back available today so managed to get one. Cheers.

I bought the new Echo Dot for £25.00. Black Friday or not, that's a great price.

two years ago when we were feeling flush these are the black Friday deals we had..

- paid £139 each for the Sonos play:1 when they were retailing at £179 the rest of the year.
- got a free 43" UHD Smart tv for signing up to sky q
- paid £299 for a sonos:connect - these are usually £399

I get a lot of stuff is inflated but like the £19.99 echo dots (previous gen) and even the current generation ones are £39.99 at the mo, along with £30 fire tablets i think its a great time to buy!

I've bought 8 so far but can't buy any more as they are limiting the numbers you can buy. Was originally on one day delivery but now stocks wont be in until 8th - 11th December. Big run on them. Excellent secret santa pressie!

This. It is an Americanism we don’t need, designed largely to suck in the gullible.

I got an ‘Exclusive Black Friday Offer’ from Racecar Enginneeing magazine, 12 months subscription for £44.95...

Yep, exactly the same price as they have sent me on the last three months subscription reminder letters.

I am sure there are some bargains to be had, but I’ll bet 90% are just marketing, pre Black Friday inflation or just plain bks.

I don't care what its roots were - there are bargains to be had.

We need a new TV and some additional sonos units - if i can get them cheaper than usual just because of a random sale day - i'll take that smile

People get scammed on computers all the time, does that mean we should just ban computers?

how about the ones in the know just benefit from it and let the rest of them get suckered in or whatever.. ? smile

Anyone got an Echo or Echo Plus to compare with?

In the German Amazon the Echo is 60 euro and Echo Plus is double at 120 euro, is it really worth double the price? Is sound quality much better?

I have the first gen dot only and quite fancy one with a better sound quality for radio and music streaming.

Agreed, there are bargains around if you know how to check properly.

Perhaps those who seem to dislike black friday can create an anti black friday thread to go moan about it in and save posting in here...

Echo Plus main advantage is native smart home capability for some devices reducing the need to have various hubs. Not sound quality.

Loads of amazon echo devices are definitely cheaper.

That’s just a sinister way of taking over your life though. hehe

But the speakers are slightly larger and I read the sound quality is better, just not sure by how much, I don't care about the built in hub, I have a Hue one already and other smart devices connect direct anyway.
Cant imagine the sound quality to be twice as good though, so probably just get the Echo.
