O/T for UK, but the plains in the US could be in for an almighty battering tomorrow.

Risk of heavy showers today, quite widespread, but east coast most likely - under a convergence zone

Local paper has got this up:
https://www.gazette-news.co.uk/news/17651706.brita...

"Britain set for three month heatwave bringing 'hottest summer ever'"

I'm going to get extra bottles of water to drink as I walk to and from work!

So much for summer being on the way. This fell in about 5 hours and there is no sign of it stopping anytime soon.

Pretty good here in Port Solent right now. Garden lunch, shirt off and sweating like Gary Glitter in a crèche.

Good news all round, moderately warm to cool unlike the horror we had last year.

Any long term predictions Pug?

It would be nice to have some thunder as well. We had a little bit of it last week but nothing spectacular.

Weeks and weeks of clear blue skies in the Channel Islands, no sign of any rain yet. Nice sunset tonight.

Just seen something on FB saying that there will be record breaking temperatures and a long heatwave on mainland europe this summer. It was from accuweather so I know it may not be the most accurate, is there any truth in it?
Would be nice if we had a decent summer.

Pretty sure Accuweather wasn't entirely accurate, they don't have a good record.

However, end of May into early June beginning to look favourable for BBQ lovers!

Currently sat in a tent in West Wales. It's 13 degrees, raining and moderately windy. Glorious.

If it helps, I'm sat beside a (thankfully heated) pool in Bordeaux. It's cloudy, high teens and due to rain tomorrow. Meteofrance suggest the drive back on Saturday will be 27°. banghead

You must have very small kids if the waves on the heated pool you mention are too big for them. smile

Keeping an eye on Sunday/Monday for some severe thunder storm action in the SE. Warm air will start to cover the UK Friday, might be cloudy. Unfortunately the earlier hope for a lengthy warm spell have been dashed by some pretty cool air piling in from the north.

Warm humid air, plus cool northern air... Fireworks!
