There’s instead of there are

People use there’s instead of there are dealing with plurals. It’s got so bad that even BBC Radio 4 is guilty of it now, previously my gold standard.
There's loads of examples of that.

silly
Similarly, when people say "There are a huge number of examples".
I have told you a million times not to exaggerate.

P.I.N. number
Glad to see you put the full stop after the last letter. Another common mistake, often seen on signs, vans etc.
Being really fussy, I don't have problem with people saying "PIN number". I think it's mainly done to make speech clearer and reduce the chance of being misunderstood. Sorry about that.

I find the ones that really grind my gears are people saying the following

Can you be more pacific? What, you want me to become an ocean??

I saw a skellington - no you didn't

I went to Birminham - oh really, where is that then?

I suspect my wife is correct and i am just a belligerent old fart hehe

Just had a little browse through this thread. It's the Pedants' Revolt all over again.

Yes, PIN number, Lake Windermere and PCB board are tautologies.
Howsumever, I have one of these...

...and I'm seriously considering calling it a DNA staircase.
