Nothing lately - fired Makarov handgun in the past, also burst some rounds using AK47 (short stock version).

Handled some firearms in the TA, they never let us fire bugger all. frown

Fired a few when I was younger, pistols, smgs and a heavy machine gun or two - also one of the old longs that the British army used to use. A couple of shotguns as well when I went clay shooting.

Fair few shotguns
28" Winchester- Didn't like it
28" Niko Shadow- Didn't like it
28" Midland Gun Company side by side hammerlock circa 1920 ish- painful and scary when it misfires.
28" Harrington Richards single barrel game gun- Never using that again, how ever cool it looks, it weighs like 6lbs if that, and destroys your shoulder
32" Beretta DT10- Om nom nom nom found this to be very nice to fire
I have just bought a 30" Beretta Silver Pigeon and it's awesome

Although I do plan to get to a free country where I may fire what ever gun I bloody well wish to fire
Steyr Aug in many forms
Desert Eagle
.357 Magnum
M249SPW
Spas 12
L96
M108

The list goes on and on I love guns, shame we can't have good guns over here especially pistols frown

yes both rifles and guns, comes from spending my youth in Brazil where you had to carry them for self defence frown

Also been shot at but they missed,Plonker trying to show off to his mates when he left our bar and did not pay the bill as he got in the car i was at the entrance and saw him pull the gun out, jumped back in the door behind the wall and he shot through the glass

Pr**k then apologises a couple of days later paying for the repairs

Just a few...

Ak-47
MP-5
Desert Eagle .50
Glock 17
Beretta 9mm
Machine gun
Shotgun
M16
MP40

Vegas baby cool (the gun store if anyone is interested...highly recommended)

I still have some of the cartridge casings, and my targets.
My first ever shot was with a glock and straight through the forehead of the bin-laden target cool

L85A1, L86A1, L98A1 (all from the SA80 family)
GPMG
Browning 9mm
Various .22 target rifles (mostly Anschutz)
7.62mm target rifles (L81 and some RPA model)
Beretta O/U shotgun

All shot either through Air Cadets, TA, RN or uni rifle club.

Favourite? Probably 7.62mm target rifles, lying out on a sunny day at Bisley firing off a few rounds - very relaxing.

Most fun? Firing a GPMG onto targets on a beach - sand flying up, tracers bouncing after hitting the sand and streams of water splashes - belt-fed fun.

And whilst in Orlando, paid a visit to a range there (don't remember the name of it, I know there's a few Florida residents on here, so hopefully a vague description of it being across the road from a Florida State Corrections, with a bail bond place nextdoor, may track it down)
Sounds like Reigs gun shop

We're off to the Sunshine state in the summer and visiting a range is one of the things I want to do. Young mr.chopper602 (11) is very keen on this idea too (quite into guns as I was when younger). I've already e-mailed a suitable range and everyone is welcome with photo ID and the prices seem very reasonable (rent a lane, then rent a gun - swappable, then buy some ammo and targets - easy!). So Disney and dolphins for the mrs and guns for me!!

Some suggestions from somebody that lives here:

http://www.oakridgegunrange.com/

http://www.orlandogunshop.com/range.htm

This one will require a drive but it is one of the best indoor ranges available (the Apopka location):
http://www.shootstraightonline.com/rangeinfo.htm
Also has a nice selection of firearms. I buy a lot of my gear from shoot straight.

The range that I use is a private outdoor one about ten miles from my house

Nice! I love guns, but dont really think id like it if they were legal here!
They are legal 'here' (except pistols, unless Sec5 licenced). Just search many of the other threads on the subject. Many Brits on here with a collection of firearms and s/g's.
Its fairly hard even for farmers and stuff to get a shotgun as far as I understand it over here (Northern Ireland). Stand to be corrected though.

Are they using the L86A1 in afghanistan? Are they still using it as a support weapon, or have they been re-scoped (susat was ok but not right for a longer range role) and given a more appropriate role as long range assault rifles?

I think they use FN Minimi's in that role now. Doubt that they will be used as long range weapons as the British have just deployed LMT's "L129A1" (which is basically an SR-25/M110/Mk 11 mod 0 type weapon that shoots 7.62x51 NATO) Rumour has it that LMT have etched the Union Flag onto the weapon...

Doh! should've just looked at your profile.....

I also have memories of rogue missiles exploding 3ft out of the bins - the rattle of the remains on the armour yikes
