I always find a pint of Absinthe & a couple of nice sausage baps sets me up nicely on days like this.

Crap, just caught up with the thread.. RIP DMN frown

In my short time in TT he came across as a really nice bloke, talked to me a bit about my dad (had heart surgery recently, which was a bit scary), and my own occasional downward slumps... and im thankful for that.

To all of you who knew him better, my condolences, a good man has been lost frown

Iva, do we have some more colombo (or lampredi) powered devices to join the Colombo ride-on mower in a missing man formation?

Fresh, thick, crusty loaf. Butter & bacon.

That would be marvellous.

Instead I'm having coffee and a Lambert.

What's this? Has the groundsman absconded with the Ransomes-Ferrari again? You can't get the staff anymore, although to his credit Mellors did ride it to a class win in the Baja 1000.

My first wife affected to prefer French cigarettes; Gauloise and Gitanes. In an Italian restaurant one evening, the owner remarked on her choice. She offered him one, he took it, thanked her, broke the filter off, lit up, smiled broadly and walked away.

I was driver for a Lawyer in the 90's. Picked him up every morning @ 07.00.

He would get into the car & chain smoke those things all the way into London......

Never the best start to my day!!

I will be driving through France next week...Stocking up on smokes and booze as standard. A cheeky few sleeves of Gauloise is on the list.

Cue Chunky and the 'smoking won't get you a bird speech'. hehe

There are more than 150.000 people flying to heaven every day. Gone from our sight, but never from our hearts. RIP

Tbh, I hate breakfast, double espresso or a nice cool smoothie (made with yoghurt and berries) works for me this time of the year. Have an early lunch though.

Isnt that what the booze is for anyway? Lowering standards on both sides etc..

NEWS FROM THE VILLAGE

The new Adult Literature section proved so popular that the Mobile Library fell on its side outside the wool shop in Oswald Mosley Street following a stampede. There were several red faces as the van had fallen on the side with the door and several men of a certain age had to climb out of the emergency exit. When it emerged that some older men were trapped inside the WI arrived with hot tea and plain biscuits. However, when the ladies learned of the cause of the men's entrapment they departed. The sight of the WI's wooden handcart, loose crockery and an urn of boiling water being propelled at speed in high dudgeon along The Cobbles will remain with those who witnessed it for a long time.
