Watching something with the wife last night about gender stereotyping (which was fairly interesting), the programe was predominantly based in a primary school, there was one lad called "Nile", spelt like the river, now I always thought it was "Niall".

Enzo.

As the kid lives in rural Ireland his second name is Doyle. Yes, Enzo Doyle.

And his father does have lamb chop side burns and a SRI Nova.

Presume the Jaxson thing is partly due to Sons of Anarchy and the 'Jax Teller' character, although the characters full name is actually 'Jackson'.

Friend named daughter La-a

The dash, unfortunately, is not silent, so pronouced La-daysh-a

He is no longer a friend
Some Gump said:
My wife went to school with some plankton, who called her sorry offsproing Le-a. Prenounced "leadasha".

I pity the poor kid, will end up a fat unemployed leech like the mother no doubt.

I think I can win this thread.

When we went to register our daughter (Zara) in April we were talking to the registrar about the stupid names she has seen parents register.

Her best happened only a few weeks before we were there and she wrote the name down for me on a piece of paper which was:

La-a

Any ideas?

No?

It's pronounced 'Ladasha'. La Dash A. Seriously.

Other than being staggered at the mouthbreathing chav parents I just feel sorry for the poor kid who (unless she has the sense to change her name as soon as she can) will have to spell it out every single time she gives her name and then try and explain why her parents were such retarded cockbags to call her that in the first place.

Overheard at a hospital appointment

teenagers name was Le-a (female)

pronounced Ledasha

You don't need to be as specific as Marie. The presence of the hyphen is enough.

Honourable mention here to Le-a. Pronounced, with gloomy inevitability, Ledasha.

A friend of mine taught in an east end school and one of the kids in her class was called 'Ladasha', but it was spelt 'L'-a'.
A remarkably common name, it seems, or is it the same one that everyone knows?

Fas1975's friend went to school with Some Gump's wife, and had a baby in the same hospital that Davey S2 and Marty63 visited later on. This child was then taught at school by Tylerama's friend. It's a small world.
It must be more common than you imagine as my cousin also taught a La-a at her primary school. As this is near Bolton it is highly unlikely that it's the same person. Definitely one for the council thread.

Today's seen on tv is borderline.

Jack Daniel, mother openly admitted he's named after her favourite beverage.

Maybe just for the council thread.

My brother Pinot agrees.

A new low today at a petting zoo in Leicestershire

Caleb, Keanu and, Mason were having a birthday party according the welcome board

Then heard in no particular order (apologies if spelling is off)

Kaylon
Kaydon
Arun (thats how she pronounced it)
Some horrible Katy Jane, Ellie May, Lilly Mae thing shouted across the sandpit

Maybe the parents think these names will help them do better than them in life and get to shovel st with a JCB rather than a shovel although looking at the fat f**ks i doubt they do much physical work
