Found these in a derelict WW2 prison camp (obviously dumped years later), now hidden in woods near Hatfield Heath. Very annoyed i can't find some of the other cool pics of the actual camp. Very creepy! Anyway you can enjoy a game of guess the car smile

A link to this was sent to me last night by one of my mate's who like his trains.

http://www.tunnelsuk.com/site_visits/2010/june/06_...

It's the long closed tunnel between Bleanrhondda and Bleangwynfi in South Wales and is within a couple of miles of my house, although I'm too young to remember it being open, in fact I think the entrances had already been buried by the time I was born.
There's a few more pics and some info on here too

Good read,cheers!

spent over an hour reading through this thread! never knew there were cool places like these around. i'll have to do some exploring near me. not sure if NW london/herts is a hotbed for abandoned buildings though. everything seems to get immediately turned into luxury apartments.

The one at the top is a Hillman Super Minx. Not sure about the bottom one - Morris Oxford?

the pictured fort is the one in the article: No mans land fort

this is Spitbank:

taken from a harbour cruise a few years back - around that time Spitbank had a restaurant on it you could go out to for sunday lunches...
I went to party here back in the late 80's, a bit dodgy getting back on the boat to get back after far too much to drink

Not much to go on, possibly an earlier Minx.

They're dreaming at the sale price surely?

http://www.yachtworld.com/core/listing/pl_boat_det...

"243' USS WILLIAMSBURG Custom

Year: 1930
Current Price: EUR 8,800,000
Located in Rapallo, Italy
Hull Material: Steel
Engine/Fuel Type: Twin diesel
YW# 74924-1603111"

"The "USS WILLIAMSBURG" was the floating White House 'Presidential Yacht' for President Harry S. Truman. She has fallen in to disrepair since she was donated to a trust.
She has a luminous and well documented history and deserves to be returned to her original splendor. She would make a beautiful Yacht for long range cruising or charter. The total project cost is estimated to be EURO 33.000.000.++ Original Naval architects plans can be made available to serious buyer. Ross MacTaggart's "THE GOLDEN CENTURY" Classic Motor Yachts 1830 to 1930 has many pictures and much history of this irreplacable vessel."

I spoke to the people that owned it. At the time they wanted that money WITH the condition that they did the refurb. There was a trust set up in the states to buy it and refurb it but they weren't interested in that deal apparently.

I just came across this film which is in keeping with this thread & thought some may find it as interesting as I did. It's about 30mins long and some of it's about the disappearance of New York's mole people, but they're also in some old subway stations as well.

I'm still registered on 28DL, still got a working account with the same user name.
Don't do much anymore as flying solo can be a bit dodgy.

Anyroad, went to Abersoch a couple of years back and on the road going in is this old hotel, used to be known as the white house. I did have a look around for an easy access at the time but gave up after doing a full circuit at ground level and seeing it all boarded up (lightweight I know).
A couple of the upper windows were open and I am pretty sure the curtains were moving on what was a very still day.

Went back past it last week and it looks worse but is now all fenced off so didn't bother stopping.

These are the shots I took last time, anyone else been there/ seen it/ bought it??

Just reading through a couple of pages and this is quite a cool thread but wtf is this? I clicked on an image and this came up, sorry if it's a repost:

Dear Little Sheep,

I’m so sorry.
I can’t believe myself what happend.
I can’t believe it was me.
You trusted me.
You gave everything.
And I wasted everything for nothing.
How could I possibly be so stupid?
I guess there is no other person on this world as stupid as me.

Everyday, in the evening, I go to sleep and think this is all a bad dream.
I wish when I fall asleep this dream is gone.
But the next morning I wake up again and I see the bad dream is still here.

If I can ever fix this, we will hold each other’s hand forever.
