Question: has anyone figured out the meaning of the gold numbers on the inside of the Samba SPZL? The pair I have has "03 03 04 12" on the inner lining. I know some of the Spezial range does have numbering on the inside but I can't figure the meaning of the series on the Samba.
They are all DOB's of collectors etc. This whole range of SPZL had them in this is basically 03 March 2004, 12 year old, not sure who this one is for but I would guess Gary's son tbhInside both my GT Manchester and Manchester MRN there was also 2 dob's and ages as well and Bobby Mac has his dob on the inside of the Indoor Super

Spoke to Gary Aspden who designs all the SPZL range he did confirm that it's his godson 03/03/04
Excellent, thanks for contacting him! I hadn't realised the whole AW16 collection featured those codes on the inside. Very cool tribute to some of the biggest names in collecting, and I'm not too surprised Bobby's birth-date was among them. He seems to have an enormous collection of styles stashed away.Levin said:

Just as an aside - because of this thread, I now look at everybodys' shoes first rather than their faces!
In my experience shoes are a very accurate barometer of a person's personality and values. Amongst other things they provide a rare insight into the mind of the wearer and their attention to detail (or lack thereof). Very rarely (outside of this thread of course) do men take any form of interest in their footwear which goes some way to justify the existence of the square toed, bonded, plastic, slip on monstrosities which seem so popular, even amongst powerfully built directors and the like. As my old man says "you can tell a lot about a man by his shoes". Truth.
Why do you like the Valentino's? the style, the quality? For £500 I would not buy them I'd buy a pair of these

and few pairs of adidas.

Anyone else feeling these:
Not cheap at around £480 but I am tempted by the white and blue ones.
I like Valentino but there are so many options for white tennis shoes that you'd have to be pretty mental to spend £500 on the Valentino ones, quality still doesnt justify the price either. Not cheap at around £480 but I am tempted by the white and blue ones.
