Well I’ve just returned from the McTimony Chiro. Quite a bizarre affair of about eight tiny slaps but I feel like I’ve done 10 rounds with Cassius Clay.

i fear that this McTimothy slapping that Pushfit is having may in fact be a form of date rape application type thing judging by his inability to stay awake afterwards!!!

Right then, a question for our builder/DIY/handyman types, we are in a 1930's/1950's house and there's no felt on the roof, which results in a lot of dirt/dust in the loft, so what can i do to stop it??? It's rented to having the roof felted is out of the question!!
Same as my house (1933), Sheet Polystyrene or foil backed foam insulation, cut it to fit between the roof rafters.then get some cheap lengths of wood battens and either screw or tack them to the roof rafters to hold in place.
Not a 5min Job but it works.
I got some 8 x 4 sheets of 1 inch Polystyrene to do my roof, Start at the Top of the roof then overlap the next sheet down

Morning chaps
You join me here at wemakeeverythingdifficult.com very early in the morning!!
Thanks for the replies about the loft, a troll of that there tinternet has directed me to something called breathable membrane, there's a few available and apparently it can be applied to the back of the battens and between the rafters, I was thinking this stapled to the battens and rafters would be a suitable way to cut down the amount of dirt ingress, what do my learned friends think??

Yep that should do it Bobbers or just staple to the underside of the rafters as its breathable. But cutting into smaller pieces in between will be easier to handle.
Start at the top and work down.
Fatboy must have a big loft hatch!

When first living in France and fending for myself,I foolishly bought some Andouillette sausage and attempted to cook them,I didn't like how it was going in the pan,so I gave it a prod with a fork.
Next thing it looked like an exploding golf ball.
In the bin it went.
Given a choice between andouillette and three week old rotting fish and chips from a council tip there’s only one winner.... bring the salt and vinegarNext thing it looked like an exploding golf ball.
In the bin it went.
Thanks chaps, looked at the Tyvek Pushfit and considering it's not our house I'm not prepared to spend that kind of money, the stuff I've found is from Wickes, comes with an adhesive tape along one edge and is around £50 for a 50m x 1m wide roll.
The only flaw I can see in your suggestion Scrump is the lack of boarding in the loft in the first place, the poor little thing would fail immediately!!!
ION I'm having an 80's throwback day, so far some early Depeche Mode and now OMD greatest hits!!!

Sorry, I lost the thrust of your argument there. Ate you saying Depeche Mode and OMD are now loft insulation fitters? The only flaw I can see in your suggestion Scrump is the lack of boarding in the loft in the first place, the poor little thing would fail immediately!!!

Spreading blasphemous rumours about Depeche Mode like that!
It's no good, I have a policy of truth. They just can't get enough of installing loft insulation.
And as we all know they have their Own Personal Jesus to look out for them, although Everything Counts In Large Amounts nowadays and I wouldn't mind Walking in Their shoes to show them The World In My Eyes and then take a little time to Enjoy The Silence(my all time favourite track, EVER!)!!!It's no good, I have a policy of truth.
