They do drive quite a lot of cars. A lot of the cars they do drive could be considered competitors or rivals to the mustang, so they would have some degree of qualification to comment.
I agree; they are perfectly well qualified to comment. So why do the comments have to be such b![](/inc/images/censored.gif)

The above statement that it is "a damned sight cheaper than any equivalent European car" may well be the key here.
I spent a couple of years or so in the US driving domestic cars (along time ago). They had a certain feel about them. Loads of toys but lacking in something, not quite the finished article, like the toys were making up for something they couldn't actually manufacture.
I am quite sure that Ford will charge whatever the market will stand. The US consumer is far more demanding than their UK counterpart and, while I agree that the majority of US domestic market offerings are stuck in the past and are pretty dire, the Mustang, Camaro, Corvette etc are all very well finished, well equipped and drive really very nicely. They are a fantastic amount of car for the money and it is really tiresome to hear the same old crap time and again from people who, frankly, should know better.I spent a couple of years or so in the US driving domestic cars (along time ago). The program was bubbling along just fine until the last couple of minutes, then there it was again, yet another slagging off of American Cars ![rage](/inc/images/rage.gif)
I didn't think they slagged it off, they just pointed out that to get 670hp in a good looking car costing 35k something has to give, i.e the interior quality etc...![rage](/inc/images/rage.gif)
I came away with a positive impression of the car, looked ace, sounded like thunder and I'm sure goes like a stink.

...FISHES...
It may annoy you, but it is valid and not an Americanism.![](/inc/images/censored.gif)

Actually they are not directly interchangeable, Ichthyologists tend to use 'fish' to describe multiple individuals of the same species and 'fishes' to describe individuals of different species.
Usage of the words fish/fishes falls under the term 'isogloss.'
I think the majority of people who fly on aircraft are unable to read, you see them at the luggage caroussel - many have a line marked out about 2 feet wide, and a sign asking people NOT TO PARK YOUR f
kING TROLLEY IN IT!
Now this would seem to be common sense, allowing others to reach in and get their bags. But no, you want to drive your f
king trolley sideways against the damm thing, then stand next to it and the two of you just squat there. Hell, why not drop your pants and piss on the floor if you really want to mark your illigally claimed territory - since you want to piss on everyone else anyway.

f
k em. when your case comes around reach over and grab it and bang the f
kers with it. serves them right for getting in the f
king way.

ETA: looking up 'isogloss' it appears you've used it incorrectly: it's a geographical boundary between different usages of words or pronunciations.

people who are influenced by top gear must be easily led enough not to be able to form their own opinions.
I mean all truckers murder prostitutes don't they? and the Chinese just make crap copies of everything don't they?
I much prefer fifth gear for actual car review stuff, however, you have to admit Top Gear is popular because of the hooning about.
[Edit] I still like top gear BTW

Top Gear is like the way it is because that's what the majority of viewers want and the vast majority of people who watch car related programmes prefer TG over anything else. It's more than just a car show it's an entertainment show.
FG in comparison is same old same old.
You've just joined the cool wall for people who don't like TG and want everyone to know it because, well you're cool.

The specific example I had was a fisherman's guide book to various species of fish - the title of the book is "Fishes". ![](/inc/images/censored.gif)

Think if the book were published here, the title would be 'translated' to "Fish"

For instance when a word is used differently in the USA to the UK, as in this case. ![wink](/inc/images/wink.gif)
